Doesn’t work for rugs.
Would RecommendThe suction is too high for area rugs. It wont vacuum rugs at all. It’s greats for the laminate floor and the light is a great to show what gets missed.

Good suction and battery life.
My wife was complaining about the V12 Outsize, so I bought her this. It is lighter and has better suction and battery life. Also, it is quieter than the Outsize. I do have a couple issues. The low reach adaptor I ordered doesn't fit the vacuum. Also, they added a button to turn the vacuum on and off. The button is small and inconvenient. They should have kept the trigger, but made it a click on, click off trigger.

Would RecommendI purchased this vacuum cleaner about a month ago. This is my second Dyson. I was concerned that it was so much smaller and would not handle the same load. Plus, there are so many attachments, I thought it was trying to do much. I was pleasantly surprised. I really love how it categorizes what types of particles are being picked up. I have allergies and I’m grateful to know whether or not there are dust mites being picked up and where they gather the most. I’m very excited about this purchase.

Love this cordless vacuum
Would RecommendI love my new Dyson Gen5detect! I had a V8 for a number of years but this vacuum is much improved over that one. All of the accessories are so easy to use and the battery life is fantastic. I cannot believe how much this machine picks up and it’s so easy to empty the canister. It filters out lots of dust ant debris while doing all of this quietly. It’s a winner!

Would RecommendI wanted to wait before I left a review and I am very happy with my very happy to report that I love my Dyson. I was worried that it would be too heavy for me as some of the reviews suggested but honestly for vacuuming it's not heavy at all and I don't have upper body strength and I have arthritis. I don't really use the handheld version so maybe that makes a difference. For most of my cleaning needs I am focus on the fur on the floor.

Would RecommendI have had this vacuum for 2 weeks and I am very pleased. I'm able to quickly "touch up" my house in 20 minutes, perhaps less. A little more than half of our house (total 2200 sqft) is carpeted. The vacuum is great on solid floors. It does a very good job on carpet, but for a deeper clean, I still use my Dyson upright. Would RecommendThe suction is beyond any expectations I had. Before, I thought I had a clean house, now I know I do. It was expensive, but I use this every day, for allergies my whole family has. We are suffering less, health-wise. It was the right choice for us.

Would Not RecommendThis is our third cordless Dyson in ten years. It is a good machine, but sometimes there are some battery charging issues. Also, our machines consistently lose their V-Ball wheel cover. While not an essential piece, it is problematic that they consistently come off. For the amount of money these machines cost, there should be no cheap, plastic, non-essential parts that are in a position to be knocked off upon every other usage.

Good upgrades, some sticky issues
Would RecommendIt's of course a wonderful machine! My only issue is with new attachment feature that is built in. It is a bit cumbersome to remove the whole piece from the bottom to empty the bin. And then you press another button to take the extension off and expose the smaller piece. Sometimes it gets stuck and the whole attachment doesn't come off. I can see this process being more cumbersome over time.
