What Customers Are Saying
The Dremel MM485 Carbide Flush Cutting Blade received mixed reviews. Many users found it effective for cutting through various materials like wood, drywall, and some metals, praising its speed and durability. However, some reported the blade dulled quickly when used on tougher materials like steel, rebar, and plaster. A few were disappointed it did not outperform cheaper non-carbide options. Overall, the blade appears suitable for general-purpose cutting tasks, but may not be the best choice for heavy-duty or prolonged use on very hard materials.

Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for cutting off some nail/screws that I could not pry out. It works perfectly with my oscillating tool to make a nice clean cut. However, tat is not what I am most impressed with, it also sliced right thru some of the hardie siding I am installing and is great for making those more intricate cuts.

Best blades available for general cutting
Would RecommendI've purchased two of these packs over the last year and have not even gotten to the second pack yet! I've pretty much used this most of my house reno projects during Covid and am surprised at how much abuse I've put the last blade through and it still keeps on going. I've cut through wood (pine/oak), metal (aluminum/steel/copper), pipes, plaster, & sheetrock. I've recommended this blade to family and friends to use on their projects.
Works well on tile

Blade Dulls Quickly
Would Not RecommendPUrchased the carbide blade for cutting receptacles boxes in plaster and lathe walls. The blades wirk well for about 2 or 3 receptacle but dulled quickly. The cost of the blades makes it nit worth the expense.
disappointed
Would Not RecommendUsed it one time to cut some stainless steel screws, and after cutting two screws the teeth on the blade were chewed up.

works great
Would RecommendI have used this blade to cut cement board. you can make square cut for receptacle boxes for counter top back splashes very quickly and neatly. I also use this to cut tile, including the 1 inch glass and marble combo stuff. this blade cuts through the glass cleanly without chipping and it cuts through the marble as well. This may dull the blade but it is better than using a wet saw because it chips and breaks the glass. This is clean, quick and it is easier than cleaning a wet saw. I also use th...

Didn’t cut what the description said it would
Would Not RecommendOn Lowe’s and Dremel’s websites, it says this blade will cut ceramic tile. It will not. It may be the greatest thing ever on other materials, but it’s totally useless on tile. Not only that, but by the time you realize it’s not doing anything, the blade is destroyed. Not exactly a cheap purchase either. Epic fail, Dremel.

Great blades for cutting metal
Would RecommendI have used these blades to cut nails, thick bolts, and stainless steel screws. A great product. Cuts well and dulls slowly.
Excellent and capable blades if treated right!
Would RecommendI've read a lot of reviews about these types of oscillating metal cutting blades not being able to get through a simple hardened deck screw. I find that difficult to believe after my own experience with these blades. I am now sure that if those reviews are even true, it is more due to operator error than weak metallurgy. My review is based on the cutting of the M16x2.00x135 hardened bolt that connects the lower control arm to the shock tower clevis on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Its a notor...

works well for the price
Would RecommendI was surprised at how expensive these are and the fact that they are mostly sold in packs of two or more. This one works well for the price. I used it mostly for cutting flooring and it is a great time saver compared to the alternatives.
