R+The realism of this fireplace insert has to be seen to be believed! Plus the heat this insert throws out is impressive. We could not be bothered (due to old age) with hauling firewood and tending fires. A push of a button and poof! a gorgeous lifelike fire appears (some day we will figure out this works). Super easy set up. We are thrilled to have the ambience of a fireplace particularly for the holidays.

This is a beautiful insert!

I could not be happier with my fireplace insert. It is hard to get a good picture but it is beautiful. Definitely get the ember pad, it makes a huge difference. I cannot believe how pretty this is inside my real fireplace that was close doff and made gas and then converted to this.

Realistic looking & very easy to install.

Love it! I like that it's made by Dimplex, so easy to put into the firebox. I didn't want a wood burning fireplace & although this has a heat option, I simply wanted it for the ambiance.

I would definitely recommend this item.

It looks like an actual wood burning fireplace. The heater puts out enough heat to keep the area warm. The light gives a peaceful glow to the room. We love it!!

You will need an electric outlet nearby.

False Advertised Model & Size

This is NOT a 23.75" insert, it is the smaller 20" insert. Based on the Lowes product description, I expected to receive the Dimplex 24" model. False advertising aside, it looks ridiculous. The advertisement photos use strategic lighting and softening filters to make the glass panel less noticeable. The fact is, it looks and acts like a mirror if there is any daylight or lights on in the room. The only time it looks remotely as described is at night, with no other lights on.

Makes log fireplace useful again

Makes log fireplace useful again especially on spare the air days. We got the insert and the coal mat/log so it looks like there are hot coals. With no back light on it’s harder to see the plastic shield. Sets up super easy. The remote is a little touchy but I have used it every day and really enjoy the ambiance. Nice unit for the money.

Cozy and warm

It's the illusion that counts. Sets up in a minute. The decent amount of heat it makes is welcome too. The remote is finicky until you get the hang of it.

Everything works fine as expected

Everything works fine as expected with the exception of the remote, it will not work and needs to be replaced.

looks cheap not worth the price

This product is jot the same as it looks on the photo. inknow it's not real fire, but it really looks cheap and fake. just got it today, tomorrow it's going back.
