What Customers Are Saying
The product has a mixed performance. On the positive side, it is praised for its compact and lightweight design, making it easy to handle and use for small jobs. It is also considered powerful enough for tasks like cutting pipe, pruning trees, and installing cabinets. However, many customers report issues with the saw frequently cutting out or stopping, even with a fully charged battery. Some find it underpowered and unable to handle tougher materials without stalling. Overall, the saw seems suitable for light-duty, small-scale tasks, but may not be reliable or powerful enough for more demanding applications.

Would RecommendI wasn’t sure about this tool and if it would really work before I bought it but I have several of the other 12v line so I gave it a shot. I love it and it is a champ. It is lightweight but has good power to it. I am using it to restore a classic car and the small frame lets me get into placed a typical recip saw wouldn’t. It works for cutting metal, trees, wood, or whatever you want to throw at it. It is one of those tools that once you get it you will ask where have you been all of my lif...

Great addition for the diy hownowner
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own the 20v Dewalt reciprocating saw which I love. The shoe on this does not adjust, so the depth for the blade isn't as deep as the big brother, but if you consider this is a smaller saw doing smaller jobs its not really a big deal. Its very easy to change blades. There's only two directions for the blade instead of four like the big one. I used this saw to trim the siding hanging on the bottom of my shed door. This one handed grip feels goo...

Handy recip saw for light duty work, tight places
Would RecommendSeveral reviewers of this saw complained that it cuts out, which could sound like a quality control problem. It literally is a safety feature, not a bug. The saw seems to sense when there is excessive wobble and automatically stops the motor. I found this by trying to hold a loose tree branch in one hand while using the saw in my other hand. The saw kept cutting out until I released the trigger and tried again. It wouldn't work consistently UNTIL I better secured the branch I was cutting and ens...
Hacksaw meets Reciprocating Saw
Would RecommendGreat little Hack Saw level Reciprocating Saw. Perfect to fit in tight spaces and for things you would normally use a hack saw for. I used it to Prune Trees and cut pipe, and it did a great job.

I like it but...
Would RecommendHandy little tool and still like it. Didn't discover (or notice) until I went to switch batteries this tool accepts ONE specialized battery. So I can't use any other Dewalt batteries I own. And the battery is difficult to find anywhere. Which limits its utility because when the battery runs low, one has to cease working on a project until the battery can be charged once more. I also don't recall seeing any information in the product ad mentioning it had an unusual battery size. I suppose it wou...

Great compact saw!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this saw about one month ago and it is very powerful for its small size. The size let’s you get into tight spots that full sized saws cannot fit into. The only flaw that I have with this saw is that the shoe does not pivot at the base of the blade like other saws that I have.

Stops running within seconds
Would Not RecommendMy husband purchased for me for Xmas and when I finally got to attempt to use it to cut some small branches it just shuts off a few seconds into cutting. Battery is fully charged. Nice new saw that I can't even use it and too late to try to trade for something else.
Excellent product
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for one hand use, much easier to use for small projects like cutting pvc or lumber . You can control this with one hand and hold the material with the other, which I can’t do with my larger reciprocating saws . Real nice product and features

It"s A Keeper!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My friend, who is a contractor, and I were installing my wife a new 300 lb double oven. The new oven was 3 inches deeper than the old one , and the electrical conduit was preventing it from going into the space. He had to cut a channel into the back of the hard cherry wood to recess the conduit. The space was tight, and his large reciprocating saw would not fit in the tight space. He used the DeWalt DSC312 to make a plunge cut with the metal bla...

Light weight
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Dewalt tool is perfect. Own a custom Wood and Metal shop and this 12v unit is perfect. Light weight and lots of power for a 12v. I cut a 21/2 inch limb off a Mesquite tree for handles and rings. No matter how hard I pushed it , it kept cutting. Definitely get this tool.

Excellent and versatile reciprocating saw!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I acquired this saw about a month ago, and I am extremely impressed with the light weight and versatility of the saw! The saw is easily used with one hand, which allows me to efficiently and precisely make needed cuts without dealing with the weight and awkwardness sometimes present when using a typical two-handed reciprocating saw. The design allows for easy blade changes, and the power and effectiveness remains present. I highly recommend ...

Lightweight, easy to use
Would RecommendIf you are working a job all day and demoing sheetrock, this took tool is worth its weight in gold. It is lightweight, compared to other reciprocating saws, and has the perfect one handed grip. Love this tool. My DeWalt favorite.

Great All Around Tool
Would RecommendIn addition to the great price and customer service, the Dewalt Xtreme 12 volt is the perfect tool for me. I was looking for something I could use to trim branches without having to use both hands when reaching overhead. Plus, I like the 12 volt brushless motor. Good battery

Great DIY drill
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 12V reciprocating saw. I’ve been using this saw for a little while and it’s been a great saw for some home DIY projects around the house. I used the saw to help built the wood shelf and cut some metal on my fence and it works great. I like how small and compact it is. If you just have small projects this is the saw for you.
