Its a great all around light. I got it for when the power goes out around the house or walking around the yard at night. It says its 800 lumens but seems brighter. I think the size of it gives out a full beam of light, vs others with similar lumens or more; but don't seem to be as bright of a beam. Best head lamp ive ever bought

I'm a diesel technician and I bought this head lamp over a year ago and it was the best decision I made, the head lamp is durable and the light is incredible bright when working under or outside on units in the dark. I bought 2 of the rechargeable batteries with the lamp and the battery on them is amazing, just with one fully charged battery it'll last me 6-7 hours and when the light begins to dime it is still bright. 7 years with my HL8, I got the HL8R for my girl

My HL8 is still going strong and my girlfriend needed a light for walking dogs and feeding animals in the pre-dawn hours. So for XMASS, I bought her the HL8R. Same COAST quality with an upgraded, more powerful, rechargeable power source. It's slightly brighter than my original. Best workhorse headlamp

I bought mine in 2016. I live on a sheep ranch in chilly eastern Oregon. I've used this light daily since purchase. It never let's me down, I can adjust the strength and beam size as needed. On full power narrow beam I can spot coyotes far away. Lower power wide beam perfect for lambing sheds. I went through a lot of expensive junk headlamps before i found this gem. Don't leave home without it.

This is the light I’ve been wanting for a while now, it’s the granddaddy of headlights. I’ve used for over a week now every and it still does not need a charge. Love this light and the FL78R are my favorites (If I can get it back from my nephew)
