Measurement Confusion
Would RecommendJust realize if you measure the current ones you have the total length of the bracket is not the length they are labeled as. I measured my current ones the angled length was 16 inches so I bought this one. However when I got home it was much longer than the ones I already had. Turns out they are measuring depth of the shelf you are supporting so I actually needed the "12-in" support bracket.
Sizing tip
Would RecommendWhat isn't clear from the packaging is that you need to buy the Fixed Mount Support Bracket LABELED as the same size as the shelf it supports. So a 16" deep shelf needs the bracket labeled 16". A bracket the same length as the shelf can't possibly support a shelf at a right angle to the wall. The bracket in the package labeled 16"is actually about 20" long. It would help a lot if ClosetMaid simply put the word "For" before the size of the bracket.

Good support system, expensive individual parts
Needed an extra support. Paid too much for it, but works just fine. Need to have an option between one and too many for use on some smaller installations where I'm not adding many shelves at one time, and don't want to hold on to extra supports until the next time I install a shelf.
Doesn't fit the 16" shelf with hanging bar
Would Not RecommendI tried every possible orientation - including the one pictured on the package. This bracket simply does not fit on the 16" shelf that has the built in hanging bar. The curved part of the bracket is too small a diameter for the fatter hanging bar.

Would Not RecommendI bought these brackets for an 8” x 16” closetmaid shelf along with the superslide plastic hooks. I did a lot of research ahead of time and thought everything was fine. Until after I’d hung the entire closet shelf with brackets and went to install the superslide hooks. THE BRACKETS ARE IN THE WAY OF THE POLE! You have to use more than a bracket on each end for an 8” shelf! Soooo frustrating! So now I have to make another trip to the store to buy 12” brackets to see if those will work with the ...
