I found its Effectiveness to increase if you stir up the water before hand getting any settling particles moving first and applying a couple times.

So I add about half an ounce to my hot tub while it’s running. Let it run its course for about 20 min. Instructions state to wash filter; so that’s what I do. The water comes out looking crisp and clear!
