Just buy regular pool sand

This ZeoSand Alternative is not good. Expensive and will turn water green no matter how many times you backwas/rinse filter. Just buy HTH pool sand instead of this.

Great product (if you follow directions)

Have been using this for the season after switching from 20# silica sand the past few years, it's great. It's a zeolite sand so it really does help with reducing the ammonia in the water, also just like advertised I haven't had to backwash as frequently. To the reviewer who complained about the sand removing granular chemicals, try mixing you granular chemicals in water prior to introducing them to your pool. This product works great and remember you only use 1/2 the amount you would of regular sand! If your sand filter calls for 80 lbs of sand, only put 40 lbs of this product. But talk about filter your water!!!!!

DON'T BUY SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!

Lost a lot of money using this product. Followed the directions to the tee. Pool will not clear up going back to pool sand. I put in a new pump, new liner, new water, and this sand. The pool is so cloudy and won't clear up. I have done pool maintenance since I was 15 and now I am 58. This is the worse product I have seen for any pool. Wish the company would offer to reimburse my money. Spent over a hundred dollars for 5 bags of this crap...

It says it all

This is our first pool, so we did alot of research and this was the right product for us. It requires less product which means saved a little money.

Horrible

I recently got a sand filter for my pool and made the mistake of getting this "sand". It is all over the bottom of my pool. Now I have to go spend more money on different sand and have will have to take apart my whole filter system to get it out.

It works......BUT....

I have a small pool, 6,000 gallons (52" x 17'). Came with a cartridge filter. Last year (4/17/2016) I switched to a saltwater system and bought a small sand filter and pump. I used 25# of this filter sand in the new sand filter. It kept the water crystal clear! But....the gauge never got off of a reading of 1 psi. Yesterday (5/11/2017) I checked the sand filter. The sand level was exactly where it should be, meaning I didn't lose any sand. I backflushed and rinsed, then restarted. Maybe I have a...

Sand media everywhere!

This is not meant for all sand filters but doesn't say that on the box. It is too small of particles for some systems. My system sucked this right through the return line and into the pool. Even after proper back washing and rinsing...turned on to filer mode to see this shooting right into the clear water. Had to drain the pool, clean out the filter sand, and start again with regular silica pool sand.

Way overpriced - causes more issues than fixes

Why can't Lowes just carry the standard #20 silica pool sand? I needed 250 pounds of filter sand for my Hayward filter and this stuff ended up causing failures of the entire filtration system. I even had to order a new gauge. Now I have five 5-gallon pails of this stuff sitting beside my broken pool. Lowes - please carry normal pool filter sand and this this overpriced junk!

Filters chlorine out of pool!! DO NOT BUY!!

After months of adding chemicals to my pool with bad results I finally figured out the problem. This product does filter even the smallest of particles. That IS THE PROBLEM!! It filters every granular pool chemical that you add!!!! Huge mistake, I've spend probably $300 on chlorine alone just to have it caught in this filter sand and backwashed right out on the ground!!! I've gone through about 5x's the pool chemicals needed and am out >$500 in wasted pool chemicals!!

Muddy Pool Sand residue nightmare!

I have used other pool sand before, but I recently set up a small pool using a sand filter and used this brand. I followed the directions in the manual provided. The first time I ran the pool it dumped a nice brown coating of muddy water in over a 1000+ gallons of new clean water. I had to dump the water and start over again because the sand in the filter continues to put out muddy water. I have tried rinsing the sand, but muddy water just keeps coming out of the sand. Save your money..keep your sand

I made a mistake buying this product. It does a good job keeping a clear pool looking clear, but It just cant seem to clear up my pool after it became foggy due to low chlorine. I ignored other reviews and pool forums about this type of sand, its made with Zeolites, and is very similar to zeosand. This stuff is junk!
