BAD in Cold Weather

Also had a top of the line Liftmaster Garage door opener installed with a Liftmaster key pad, and I've changes the battery already three (3) times this winter. DEFINITE correlation with a cold night and the keypad NOT working the next morning. If we have a 40 degree night, no problems,... anything under 30 degrees you can stand and put in the code 10 times or more. Under 20 degrees, the door is NOT opening, unless you replace the battery. 9V Clip Connector Breaks Easily.

The 9V Clip Connector is really not suited for outdoor use. After only 2 years, one of the terminals broke off rendering it useless. Unfortunately, I can't see a way to take the back cover off and replace the connector. Is there not a more heavy duty alternative? Do I have to purchase a new Keypad every two years? At least give me access to fix it.

Liftmaster 877Max Keypad

Unit is less than a year old. I'm not able to program a temporary code into the keypad. I downloaded latest instruction from the Lift Master website and the instructions as written do not work. Often have to press enter twice to get door to open.

Worked for 2 years but now is unusable

We had a Liftmaster (8550W) installed professionally along with this keypad. The keypad worked well for a bit over 2 years but now is very unreliable. I replaced the battery and reprogrammed it but still it often will open the door with the code and enter but in general will not close the door afterwards. It has become basically useless. I live in Minnesota. Never have had issues with any LiftMaster product in the cold weather. Great products. Keep up the good work.

Would not recommend this product

Stops working in cold weather and keys stop functioning

Misleading Specs

States that it "Holds four unique PIN codes" which makes you think that a single door can have four codes. WRONG, each PIN can be only used on one door.

Poor performance in cold weather

Poor performance in cold weather. Will not work if temp is 30 degrees or lower.

not open

when it is cold out , = under 40 degrees out , the digit 7 will not activate = so I can NOT open the garage door. Why is it just digit 7 and why only when it is 40 degrees or less outside?

Easy to Install

I had no problems setting up the keypad for my two garage doors. Installation took less than 10 minutes as I was able to use the mounting screw from my old unit that was no longer working. Works like a charm!

Keypad stopped working to open garage door

The keypad for my mother's house just stopped working to open the door; it still closes the door. My husband and I followed the brief instructions in the keypad box to reset the keypad code and they didn't work. (Luckily, there were two of us because after pressing the "Learn" button atop the garage door opener, you have 30 seconds to enter the number on the keypad. Unluckily, our two attempts did not work.) I have the keypanel on a house I recently bought...the problem I have is it works when closing the door but it does not work to open the door. Is there a solution to this?

Broke after 4 months of usage

I replaced an earlier device for breaking after two years of usage. The new one I purchased broke after 4 months. This is a real pain.

Stopped working

This product worked reasonably well for years but has now stopped working or even lighting up, even when I change batteries. Does lift master have a solution?

Will not work new out of the box

Have tried several times along with rereading the instructions each time. Just will not work.

Doesn't work

New system, followed the instructions to enter the code, but nothing happens, no light flashing or clicks heard. Tried 5 times, twice removing and reinstalling the battery, same result.

Outside access

I I have had this product for several years. I use it for access when I or the Petsitter have no key. It has worked fine. I have only had to replace the battery two times. I would like it to be programmable by an apt so I could have a sitter code without having to change everything with the main unit.

third in 5years - really

These work well for about 18months-2yrs then just stop working. My kids say it regularly did not work if it is raining out. My 3rd keypad just stopped working. (new battery) I am not replacing it due to poor reliability. Lift works great Car remotes are expensive and chew pricey batteries Wall mount exterior keypad is not reliable. (My dog sitter couldn't get in when it suddenly stopped functioning. Now I need a new carpet.)

Wouldn’t Buy Again

Worked well for about a year then quit. Tried several batteries.

Does not work

This keypad remote is frustrating. It works sporadically. You can not rely on it working when you need it. It works one day, and not the next day, etc. My old previous garage door had a wired keypad that never failed. My installer told me that I could not really remove this LM Keypad to replace it with a wired keypad. I'm about to have my entire brand new door opener replaced, simply to get a better keypad.
