Never had a problem

So there are two things with this opener. In 10 years of owning it on two houses, I've never had it fail without user error. 1. Make sure your antenna is completely exposed. I had a tenant neatly tuck the antenna of the receiver to "make it look better". You guessed it, an hour of troubleshooting and two remotes later, I solved the problem. I ended up tying a washer to the end as a hint. 2. Sometimes after the code is entered and enter is pressed, nothing happens. Just press enter again. Wor...

Selective

I agree 100% with the previous post which reflects its selective operability. As a result, you have to carry a remote if you are working outside in the cold weather and want to come back in through the garage. The remote goes off inadvertently and so you find the remote opens the doors when you don't want it to and the keypad won't open the doors at all very often. Disappointing accessories for such a great opener...

wireless keyless entry system

Ever since the day this keyless entry pad was put in , it only works when it wants to and believe me when I say I'd like to smash it into a thousand pieces when it doesn't because when it's 10 degrees and the wind is howling or you're stuck in a down pour getting soaked it's not pleasant .

programming LiftMaster 8500

The intent of the instructions seem to be to intentionally frustrate the end-used. I have a 2013 automobile and this is a brand new, top-of-the-line LiftMaster. But of course it is a "rare case" that requires a repeater. Don't expect to figure things out from the provided instructions or the website - it required a call to the company. WAnted to have access from outside, but battery has to be replaced every month and now it doesn't work at all after only 2 years. Very disappointed.

Poor Battery Life

After having to replace the battery 3 times over the past year, I checked reviews and realized others have had the same issue. And since there is no battery indicator, you don't realize the battery is dead until you need to use the keypad. I previously owned a Craftsman model and the Craftsman keypad would last for well over a year before needing to be changed. Bummed out

The battery died for the first time in my remote entry keypad model# 377LM. I opened it and was pleased to see it was a regular 9 volt battery. As I tried to remove the old battery one of the silver posts broke off of the battery connector (the black pad that holds the positive and negative connectors to the battery). This has rendered the unit useless, unless I can find someone to repair it by rewiring the battery wires with a new connector pad. Trust me, I had put minimal pressure in trying to...

Drains battery too fast

I love the easy programming instructions, the modern design and back-lit keypad but have gotten locked out of my house several times because the battery died. I walk my dog four times a day and enter and exit through the garage so the keypad does get a lot of use. I've had it about about a year and have had to replace the battery four times - seems excessive. If not for for this issue I'd give five stars all around - but isn't the point remote "access"?

Battery Life

I have had a LiftMaster keyless entry for 12 yrs. and had to change batterly only three times. Is there a battery life problem with new keyless entries?

Wireless Keypad

I do like the wireless keypad however I get locked out of my house every so often. The 9 volt batteries run out of power too quickly. I do not think that the battery should only last a couple weeks which is costing too much.

Great product

Great way to add a remote keypad to your garage door opener. Very simple to install and easy to program if you have a newer opener with a "learn" button. Programming is a bit fussy if you have an older DIP switch model. Have a handy alkaline 9v battery as the included one is a cheap "heavy duty" type that won't last long especially in extreme weather.

Flexibility built in!

This is a great opener. You can program temporary codes for friends or who ever and they will expire after a user programable numer of times or length of time.

Greatest Keyless Entry Ever

I recently purchased a 940D keyless entry and it is fantastic. I don't have to carry my remote garage door opener with me. I have a 5 car garage and it can get very hectic to try to remember all of the remotes when we are out and about.

good item

I like this item, but go back to the older style. I hate how the new keypad covers don't cover the whole battery door. You loose that battery door, and there go the waterproofing. The old keypads were more flush, too. I loked those a lot better, that's why I only give you guys four stars. But good idea with the red LED's!
