Works great! Easy to install and set up. Nice to wifi now on my 24 in smoker!!

Controller replacment

Part seems to work good. No problems with wifi or Bluetooth. Just disappointed this is the 2nd time I have had to replace the controller for my smoker in 4 years.

The good an the bad...

I have had issues with both the wifi and bluetooth connectivity... when they work it is great... I just did a couple pork butts the other day and they both worked fairly well... now the bad bad... the top part of the screen has failed... at least partially where the characters, numbers, etc are no longer readable... this is not an issue for most operations but it is where the bluetooth code is displayed and the software version is displayed, etc... I love being able to monitor what's happening with the smoker while driving to the grocery store. It's really a game changer. 2 probes, pid, etc. You almost don't need to do anything It's just a little pricey in my opinion.

I bought the gen 2 retro fit wifi pellet grill controller about 5 months ago and installed in on my LUX model grill. The only complaint I have is that the smoke control doesn't work. I have adjusted the number setting and still no smoke.

Easy to install and works great after you get it setup and updated. I feel like I have a new grill.

Like having a completely new grill.

This is extremely easy to install. It takes about 5 minutes to take out the old controller and install this new one. My only gripe is maybe the wifi antenna is a little weak? It took forever for it to detect my wifi network (over 30 minutes!) even though my router is only 25' away from the grill. The connectivity setup seems a little clunky between the app and controller as well. The app was telling me to shut off my controller, wait 10 seconds and then turn back on again for updates, but a...

Don’t waste your money

Ever since my neighbor and I got WI-FI gen 1 controllers it has given me nothing but trouble Wi-Fi and Bluetooth never work and my neighbor has problems off and on with the blue tooth and Wi-Fi. The manual part works great. But the tech side of it has been so bad I’ve been tempted to sell the camp chef and go with a different. Compnay

I love the ability to monitor and control the smoker through the app. In my opinion, it was definitely worth the upgrade to get the wifi! It was extremely easy to install and to get it operational.

Gen 2 Retro Fit WIFI Pellet Grill Controller

I was hesitant to switch to the Gen 2 controller as I would be the one installing unit. After reading reviews I decided it didn't look that complicated and I was right. It took me about 10 minutes to change out controllers and I'm happy with its performance. My Wifi isn't the best but that's no fault of controller and I merely need to roll grill closer to router. Just buy it - you won't be disappointed and if a girl can install unit.....well it must be easy!

Great when it connects to WiFi

Brand new grill with this controller and I cannot get it to connect to Wi-Fi, so when they say they “fixed” Wi-Fi connectivity issues…they didn’t. Bluetooth works great.

No user manual

Not intuitive with no user manual. Very disappointed.

Great upgrade

I decided I wanted to upgrade my controller to the WiFi version. I was a bit skeptical, but still bought the controller. What a HUGE difference it has made. The ability to adjust the smoke from 1-10 has been a game changer over the original controller, 5 on the new controller seems to be comparable to the high option on the original unit. Made a great pellet grill even better!

This controller is a game changer! I wish I had bought it sooner, so much better control of my smoker and the intensity of the smoke flavor is much better. It’s very easily installed which is a great bonus. I highly recommend it!

Expensive upgrade

This does not hold temps as advertised. I am averaging 15 degree swings in both directions same as the original controller.

Wonky but awesome

Awesome addition to the grill! Just wonky connecting to WiFi! Have to point control panel towards the router in the house and disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth and disconnect and reconnect to WiFi using password each time you turn on grill to use! Wonky but when it’s connected it’s such a great tool.

Game Changer

I was really ready to buy a new grill as I was fed up with the +/- 15 degree variance in my DLX model. Saw this on the website and thought I'd give it a try. What a difference! about a 7-degree variance which I think is pretty good. The best part is I wanted to smoke some ribs for dinner but had to go to work.
