Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The product has received mixed reviews. Some users praise its portability and versatility, but the majority express significant concerns about its performance and reliability. The main issues are that the tool frequently shuts off or stalls when pressure is applied, lacks power and torque for basic tasks, and has an unreliable on/off button. Overall, the consensus is that the product is severely underpowered and unreliable, with a design flaw causing it to shut off unexpectedly. While a few users reported positive experiences, most reviews indicate the product does not meet quality standards.

ok tool
Would Recommendthis tool is fine for small jobs.its v20 battery powered so no outlet like my dremel.my biggest gripe with it is that it cuts off every so often I guess as a cool down maybe but that's my biggest issue when you're in the middle of something and that happens.
v20 rotary tool
Would RecommendWhen used as designed it works great. If you press too hard it will shutoff for safety. I have used mine with no issues.
Impressive
Would RecommendI was disappointed at first. Then I seen the variable speed control. Now I'm totally impressed with it. I sharpened my kitchen knives with it. Cut some straggler nails off that was hanging out of my shop wall. And trimmed my dogs nails with it on low speed and very carefully. I would absolutely recommend it for thousands of tasks around the house and lots of diy crafts. Yeap i love it. Oh and it comes with several accessories as well.

Lowes has a way of screwng up an order quite often
Would RecommendI purhcased 2 Craftsman V20 Variable 20volt Max Cordless Rotary Tools and also Two sets of Rotary Bits to go with them. I got the Rotary tools. The Rotary Bits were lost entirely, instead Lowes labeled and provided to me two brand new Stove Heating Elements! I had to gracefully decline them and go elsewhere to find rotary bits. Glad I had still another month till Christmas! Lowes got my order atleast 50% right, So "glass half full" lol!

Useless
Would Not RecommendI've used my old 110 outlet rotary tool for decades and love it, aside from the cord. Finally decided to add this to my collection so I didn't have to run expo l extension cords anymore and wow am sorely disappointed. It spins when I'm not using it. That's about it. Any actual pressure on it and it gives up and shuts off. Then I have to push the power button to turn it back on. Did they even test this? It's useless!

Zero Torque - Suprisingly Weak
Would Not RecommendI love all of my Craftsman V20 tools - and I have almost everything they make. I'm also not one to leave reviews, but I feel compelled to make anyone interested in this rotary tool aware of how bad it really is. This rotary tool struggles to cut, engrave, or sand the most simplistic of parts. I'm used to the torque of my Dremel and this unit falls far short. It will literally stop rotating when you apply the slightest pressure - and to make a bad situation worse, when it does stop rotating, you ...

Plastic gears
Would Not RecommendWent through two in one day. I was cutting a chop stick to see how it worked. The gears burned up within two sticks. Just buy a Dremel and save yourself multiple trips.

Shuts off
Same problem shuts off after few seconds doesn’t matter what I’m doing. I returned the first one and second one is doing the same. Definitely a problem.

Good tool. Nice to have the large battery capacity
Would RecommendAt first I was concerned because it would shut off frequently when a little pressure was applied to the disc. Problem however was just the battery that was low. My battery was showing two bars but putting a charged battery in the unit immediately made it run much faster without shutting off.
not good for moderate to heavy applications
Would Not Recommendhave used it a couple of times, seems very under powered , shuts of repeatedly when under a minimal load/torque , perhaps useful for certain very light, and delicate projects , some reviews have mentioned that the tool works better with extended use , to break it in , but I am skeptical of that statement , I think the tool should be redesigned to accept more load/torque

Poor performance
Would Not RecommendJust like everyone else here, big fan of the V20 tools, but this rotary tool is a serious pain. 10 seconds and it shuts off, making it basically useless unless you'd like to extend your project time 10x. Extremely disappointed.

Turns off with little pressure
Would Not RecommendI bought this to add to my many V20 tools from Craftsman. I had a dremel that was dying on me so I purchased this. Well it's so disappointing. With the lightest pressure on the tool, it turns off. I've tried to use it many times and it seems to only work the best at full speed with very little pressure. It takes so long to cut through anything that it's practally useless.
