Beware of Model you purchase

Both the pics and description say this edger is Electric Start Capable, which is what I wanted. Went to my local Lowes and got me one. Got home and started to assemble the edger, when I noticed the electric start port was missing. Read the included paperwork, only to find out there are two versions of this edger: one with and one without electric start capability. Supposedly the box denotes what version is inside. Really? Worthless

It's very hard to start, and unless you already have a perfect manicured edge don't even try with this thing. It will cut NOTHING off your sidewalks as far as dirt or long grass. Just buy an edger attachment for a good weedeater and move on with your life.

Poor performance

Used the unit 2 -3 times and the belt is shot and difficult to replace. Poor design!

Great alternative to weedeater-like edgers

One of the few walk behind edgers for individual homeowners still available. The quality of materials & construction is down from the last identical one I bought, but the durability will be decided in the future. Much easier to manage than an edger designed like a weedeater.

One and done

Lasted all of one use. Blade stopped working after 20 minutes. Not worth the money.

It runs good

Only problem is adjusting blade constantly due to uneven lawns front and back yard

Very easy to put together, cranks first pull. Easy to use. Very nice

The first one we purchased, the pull string locked and we could do nothing with it. Worst of all, we had not purchased a warranty. We went back to Lowes and purchased a second one and after working for a couple of hours, the band inside broke. We did purchase a warranty but what good is it a product like this fails 2 out of two. Garbage

This year was the second year I've (tried) to use it. The first year it started with little effort and did a great job. This year for the second usage the unit was nearly impossible to start, but after 50 or so pulls it did fire up. As soon as I got the edger into position and began edging it cut off. I then had to go through the same procedure again with the same result. I finally had enough and threw the garbage away.
