Good toy for a boy to feel himself like a man :) Please kindly note that you will need buy also a hammer to finish it assembly. And please don't forget if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail :) My 8 y.o. boy was happy to assemble it

Fun (30-minute) Project

Helped my 5-year-old grandson build this during a recent visit. Helpful hints: Use a child-size hammer on a solid, easily-accessible, hammering surface (e.g., concrete floor). In addition to reading the instructions aloud, occasional assistance was provided: identifying parts, proper tool use, holding parts in proper alignment during assembly. He was able to do all of the hammering by himself and was very proud of the final result.

Really Fun

Got this for our grandson. He and Popi had a great time building it. Then they painted it. He’s only 2 1/2 but loves to build. He neeed help but it kept his attention. Well made.

Easy and Fun

My 8 year old grandson was able to put this together almost on his own. He really enjoyed it. We painted it later so we had crafts for two days.

Five Star Sailboat

My three year old grandson enjoyed helping me build this boat. While not able to build this without my help, I made him feel he was a big part of the project. He and his twin sister enjoyed these build projects.

Fun Pirate Ship

It was fun to build and has cool sails. The plank pulls in and out. Some of the predrilled holes do not go all the way through. The crow's nest was hard to hammer in straight. It would have been better if there were more stickers.

Good for the young ones.

I bought this as a small project for my grandson, who likes to pretend he is wood working when i am doing projects. It was easy to assembly, and he got to drive the nails himself ( pre-drilled and provided). He was very happy he was able to build the toy with a minimal assistance.

Pretty good

The way the kit is made and with the given instructions, it is very difficult for kids to hammer a nail into the crow's nest without risking damaging the crow's nest and cracking the mast. Consider gluing the crow's nest without the nail. Lowe's quality control could do better. Also, the Lowe's logo on the lower flag sail is cheesy and detracts from the finished product. Your kid can put her/his own sticker or create a sticker and tape over it.

good project

bought 2 of these for granddaughters 3yoa/6yoa both had a good time putting these together very simple. but makes for good craft time . i had other reviews that said nails were hard to put in not so even the 3year old had no problem seating them and they do float

Fun Project but tough to put togehter

Would be pretty hard for a kid to put together. I had a hard time with the Nails bending on me.

My 5 year old Great Grand Son happy!

My great grand son was so happy when he completed the Pirate Ship. He had the biggest smile on his face I have ever seen. Building was so easy with the tools that are available for the product. And, so inexpensive, too.

Fun kit...

This was the first kit that my son and I put together, even before attending an in-store clinic. I noticed that the nail holes didn't quite line up and it was challenging for him to nail the portholes into the side of the ship. Overall, he really enjoyed building this project. He really liked how the plank slid in and out of the ship. I will say that these kits that you buy are of inferior quality compared to the ones they get in the free in-store clinics!
