Good for the money and use

It was hard to find a laser fax, that was just that. Most new products will do too many things we did not need and for which we did not want to pay extra.

Smaller is sometimes better

This fax gets the job done - but is much larger than our the fax machine we had for 15 years which finally died on us. While the pages go thru quickly the time to actually send it is much longer. Also, it has the same ring tone as our phones so we keep picking up our phone thinking it is ringing - when it is just the fax machine.

Nothing but trouble

This is my second IntelliFax-2840. The first one never gave me a second of trouble but this last one has been nothing BUT! I like this model but I guess I got a lemon. It seems to be resetting itself and you have to know every minute detail of what settings your machine likes with your particular phone line service. It comes with 4 preset rings to receive a fax but mine has to be set on one or it doesn't work. How am I supposed to know that. I've called Brother twice for assistance but they have...

This is a great printer!

Even though my paper feed stopped working when I first purchased it, it's still a Great printer. I spoke with Tech support for WAY too long, They sent me a new drawer, that's what I thought it might be, but it wasn't. The automatic paper feed still does not work. I just don't have the three hours it takes to sit on the phone with tech support ...Again...in order to get a refurbished printer to replace this one. Plus, this printer works so good I almost hat to give it up...even without the paper ...

Great Upgrade

I upgraded from a small Brother IntelliFax and the difference is amazing!

GOOD PURCHASE

EVERYTHING ABOUT THE 2840 IS GREAT EXCEPT THE LED IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ WITH NORMAL LIGHT. i HAVE TO USE A FLASHLIGHT AND THEN IS IS NOT TOO CLEAR. CAN'T FIND ANY ADJUSTMENT FOR IT.

Sends and receives faxes quickly, very clear print great copies. You have to install separate answering machine if you want it to pick up calls a bit large for tight spaces and there's no back light on led panel so low lighting makes it hard to read

Good piece of equipment

The speed of the machine was quite a surprise. At first I thought the sheets were not being transmitted. Very pleased with the ease of operation!

Much faster and neater than my old machine. Like the fact that it is laser and not filament.

A Real Fax machine !!!!

Had an old thermal piece of junk that always jammed was slow and used that primitive thermal roll. What a difference. The 2840 is fast sending receiving and printing out reports. See, no jams using recommended page. Did get off track setting up. I needed to use an external voice mail machine but used the wrong option. Loving It So Far!!

We purchased the Brother IntelliFax-2840 a few months ago. Although we aren't HEAVY users of the fax machine, we DO rely on it for many specific needs. We replaced our PanaFax UF-585 with this model after doing some extensive research on the internet of various fax machine models, which there are NOT a lot of out there these days. RELIABLE OFFICE EQUIPMENT

We upgraded and since our old faxes were also Brother brand we decided to purchase same brand. We were satisfied with product and were able to use for many years.

Very Reliable Product

Our new Brother Fax-2840 is replacing a very reliable Brother Fax that we had for years. This porduct is very reliable and we like all the Brother features ttoo numerous to mention. It is a ver y good product. Keep up the Good Work Brother.

excellent machine

This my second machine as the first is in my HOA office and I was so pleased with the way it works I got one for my home.

Overall nice fax / printer.

Fairly easy setup. Nice size footprint. Initial toner life is somewhat abbreviated but regular, full size replacement toner seems to be available at numerous retail outlets and often at discount prices. Bit pricy to get decent length (6ft) USB cord (not included) to link Fax to Desktop. However, once installed, Fax works great as printer with good quality output. Only difficult time was downloading updated printer driver from Brother site.

Good Buy

I like this fax, but miss 2 features that were on a previous Brother Intellifax 1270e that I had for many years: 1) I could continue to load pages into the feeder, so I could fax more than 30 pages allowed on the 2840. 2) On the 1270e I could print a confirmation of the fax after I sent it. On the 2840, it has to be programmed prior to sending and deprogrammed if no longer needed.

Great fax machine! Our office sends & receives ALOT of faxes each day and it doesn't a great job of keeping up. Our office has 2 of these machines due to being spread out and on multiple floors. The only negative thing about this machine is that it goes through ALOT of toner even with the save toner option is selected. I have not heard a complaint about so far. Would buy another one though!

Long lasting product

Had prior model that lasted eighteen years with regular use every day. It finally had to be replaced. Hope this one lasts half as long.
