Work in the flooring industry. This is great for measurements. I typically use it 4-5 times a week. In clients homes with a ton of furniture sometimes there is no way I would be able to use a tape measure without the client helping me. The BOSCH laser makes it easy to have a conversation with the client and measure with ease. In the 2 years I have used it the batteries have died twice. I keep spare batteries in the car.

Works well for landscape design

I have used this a lot since 2023. The back is dated July 2022. It’s very reliable and I’ve only changed the batteries one time. The only downside is that I’m a landscape designer and I use it outside a lot. It’s often difficult to see the laser outside unless I’m pointing it to the shade. If I’m working in the sun, I have to measure the old-fashioned way.

Same as other's experience. Loved it until it stopped working within 1 year. Would love to get another one but too much money for something that doesn't last a year.

Survived 4 Tons of force

Mine was ran over. It still turns on. The screen is dead but lights up. 100% durability, screen is very easily replaceable.

It was great when it worked.

Love the features of this laser measure. Tried to use it a couple of days ago and it was dead. Thought it was just the batteries, but new batteries didn't help. I see now from other reviews, that this is a common problem. Doesn't seem to be a question of if it will die, but when.

Same experience as others. The product stopped wor

I bought this 6 months ago and used it a few times in the same day. Now I need it but it won't turn on even with new batteries. I should have listened to the other reviewers and buy something else.

Great tool. But it just stopped working.

Love these tools and are a life saver. If they work. I purchased this unit awhile ago and only used maybe a dozen times. However now it wont display properly. only bits of the screen work. Tried changing the batteries but still no luck. Very disappointing since it was just kept in my bag and barely used.

Started Great but just stopped working

This was a lifesaver for measuring for me until one day it just could not get a reading regardless of lighting. Then it simply would not turn on, even with new batteries. Great while it works, but not durable.

Brand new device not working

Bought this device a few weeks ago and I am still unable to use it. I continue to get an image error as soon as turn it on and then it proceeds to shut off, even with a new set of batteries. Quite the disappointment!

Workhorse with great features

I bought this a long time ago and have used it for countless construdtion as-builts and remodels. Always tough and dependable. With a 10 memory capacity I am able to take the measurements then enter them in a laptop, I never have to go back for missed measurements. Buying a new one with bluetooth enabled. Bosch lives up to it's name!

Stopped working after two years of light use

As others have pointed out, product works great while it works, but no durability over time even with extremely light use and proper care and storage. Mine also started showing 0’ 0”, then - - - - as it attempts to register a measurement before showing Error. Swapped batteries and no change. Paid a premium for the Bosch name but this is the second Bosch product that has failed me within 2-3 years of ownership. I think I’ll take my business elsewhere, unfortunately.

What a disappointment.

Purchased the Bosch GLM165-40 laser measure with the expectation it would be accurate and reliable…boy was I wrong. During the third time I used it, the power suddenly went off and would not come back on. Thinking it was the batteries, I replace them with a new set but it would still not turn on. I checked for corrosion, but the terminals are perfectly clean. A big disappointment .

Tool stop fonctionning after 3-4 uses

Bosch as a great reputation overall but with this tool i am extremely desapointed. The price of it compare to the quality of the product i have in hand is wrong.

Durability of a Bosch product is questionable

I bought a Bosch lazer measuring device because their name spells reliability and durability. Unfortunately in 3 years this product does not work. This is with a usage of less than 5 times a year. I took this out today to measure and it did not work: - I pressed the measuring button and it turned on which is what it should do - However, when I placed it against one end of room and pressed measuring button, the laser would not come on - the real time measuring icon and 0’0” comes on -upo...

Worked fine until it didn't

After light use (which I was happy with the features and performance of), my laser won't work after only 19 months of ownership. I probably used it 10 times. The symptoms: When I power it on (with fresh alkaline batteries): 1) the laser dot blips on for a split second and then remains off 2) The display shows 0' 0" and doesn't change values 3) The "real time measurement" icon flashes but no measurements are made 4) After 10 seconds, the display goes blank but the backlight remains on 5) ...

I Wish I Had Bought This Sooner!

This is a GREAT product. It measures very accurately. After I purchased it, I wanted to be sure it was accurate, so I checked the Bosch unit against my tape measure. 100% accurate every time. I knew when I purchased this unit it is designated for indoor use. There are other more expensive units if you want to measure distance outside in the BRIGHT sunshine.
