Power switch problem.

The router worked well until it didn’t. Apparently the on off switch went bad and it seems though it is a known issue. Buying a new switch was inexpensive and replacing it was not difficult. Too bad Bosch hasn’t addressed this known problem with this router switch.

1st time user to a router. It was easy to use and made perfect cuts. Extremely satisfied with this router.

great tool

Great tool and very powerful for flattening slabs. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars, i cant find a dust extraction hood for my plunge base. None online seem to be compatible with this model. if anyone at bosch can lead me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated

Great router- much better than Ryobi

Bought this router to replace a fairly new Ryobi router for my Bosch router table. Much better product. Really enjoy the variable speed and the option to use 1/4" or 1/2" shank bits.

All you need for a router table

Works great on router table. And you can adjust the height from the top with an allen wrench. You do NOT need to buy the extra bracket for router table that Bosch tries to tell you to buy.

Great router and worth the cost

Well built, has more than enough power to get the job done and is comfortable to use.

I have had mine for several years. I have had several brands and models, this is by far the best.

Switch Issues

Used only twice for a total single pass length of only 7 feet. 4 feet the first time it worked great. 3 feet the second time and switch and variable speed issues with over heating presented itself. Let it cool off and started just fine but worked only for about 2 inches and the issue presented itself again and again and again, about every 2 inches. The issue of over heat in the switch and speed control cause the unit to shut down until it cooled off.

This is my second Bosch router and it performs as well as I expected. Now I have the same model powering my router table and plunge router.

Fixed based poorly designed for under the table

The fixed base of this router, the fixed base for router table with no handle (sold separately) or the new generation of fixed base has had the same problem apparently for years: it has OTA feature (Over the Table Access) so that you can adjust the bit height from above. But when you use the base in a table, the height adjustment assembly, which is only kept together by a flimsy retaining clip, well that clip cannot withstand the weight of the router.
