Item was as advertised.

It took a long time to be delivered, but the snow storm on the East coast contributed to that. It was delivered to the wrong address. Luckily, that neighbour recognized who I was and brought it to me.

Nothing Beats Bosch Routers

Nothing beats a Bosch router. I have been woodworking for over 30 years and I wouldn't choose another router. They last and offer enough power to do anything needed.

Damaged Router required handwork before using

I purchased this router specifically to use in a Bosch router table. One advantage to using the Bosch router is that the Bosch router has a hex key T-wrench (included) that engages an adjustment rod through a hole in the chassis base, thereby allowing the fine-tuned height of the bit to be done from above the table, as the router is mounted base-up (upside down) under the surface of the table. Nice router for a beginner doing deck railing. Easy to learn and to operate. Perfect hand fit with two handles and easy manipulation around curves. Found a great deal online—less than in the store. Lesson learned! Bought the online option while standing at the service desk and holding the router. Saved myself more than $50!

ok but not great

the wooden handles are not that great. the micro adjuster works ok, but it moves when you lock it in.

Sad quality appearance

Never a good sign when they show that much pride in their work when the warning labels aren't even put on perpendicular (photo 1). Then, when they can't even line up the fool-proof arrow marks when yanking the motor unit into the base during assembly thereby marring the motor housing (see photos 2 & 3), it's not getting better. But worst is when the base plate of a precision wood working tool is warped by at least a 1/16" (see photo 4) leaving you to make joinery of the same appearance as the qu...

Great Router, But Doesn't Last

I bought this router a 4 years ago and have not used it extensively. I was very disappointed when it started to behave in a manner where it shuts off shortly after use. I found and worked off references to clean the power switch and replace the brushes, but sucess. It doesn't stay on for me and I don't know why. Clean your switches!

So this is a great router and I've owned mine for 4-5 years. Mine just recently stopped working, and after looking at some of these reviews and realized there is a common problem with the switches. I took mine apart and too the switch out and it was loaded with dust. Cleaned it with a dry toothbrush and works great! For those dealing with their routers not working, clean your switches!

Poorly/Flawed designed fixed and plunge bases

Fixed Base (above and below table): Because the motor is only supported on one side when adjusting height, the bit is not perpendicular (square) with the base. As with most things that are supported only on one side, they tilt to the other side. Tilt remains when motor clamp is engaged.
