My go-to router

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two of these I like it so much. One is permanently mounted in my router table and the other I have with fixed bas and plunge base for my hand held router needs. I like all the features from the nice wood handles to the non-twisting height adjustment and the fine and coarse height adjustments and the through the base height adjustment when used in a table. The speed control is smooth and accurate and the soft start very nice.

Awesome router

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After Purchasing the 1617 evspk kit I purchased an additional fixed base for my router table, makes it quicker to move it from the table to hand held without needing to recenter it each time you change operations

This specific router is literally by far the best product on the market when one compares horse power, user friendliness and state of the art compatible bushings. Overall rating is a 6 out of 5 !!! Phenomenal Router

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this router for a kitchen remodeling project. I needed to make a kitchen full of cabinet door and drawer fronts. The router adjustments are phenomenal, making the setup process a breeze. The motor had ample power allowing me to process hundreds of feet of hard maple without issue. I was so impressed with this router that I bought a second fixed base model for dedicated router table use. Would definitely recommend to others.

Packed with great features

Great router

It is a great router and I have used it quite a bit. My only con is there is no locking button to change bits.

A Great Router

I bought this router to go with a Rout-R-Lift ll table insert. It has surpassed all my expectation in use and power. Having a 1/4 and 1/2 inch adapters is great. The ease of use and the slow start up makes it really easy to start. The continue speed control keeps the bits from burning.

Excellent router

I have several routers this is my favorite. The slow start feature gives better control.

Powerful, gets the job done

I found this to be a powerful machine. The design could be improved to include auto lock shaft and the handles shouldn’t be as smooth. I bought this to go with my Bosch router table matches up great,

Unsafe

The power switch is not fully dust sealed despite the marketing. My router switch no longer fully locked in the off position due to dust and I had the router start unexpectedly as a result. I beg everyone to unplug or use a secondary switch to shut off the router whenever you touch the bit or collet. Basically treat the router as if it is always on because it can turn on without warning.

Very top heavy especially with smooth wooden handles difficult to safely control

Reliable

This is my second Bosch router. The first had a fixed base and plunge base. When I got my router table, I also used it in the router table. Eventually, I wanted a dedicated router motor for the table, so I got the second router, fixed base. If I could have bought a motor only, I would have, but that option was not available. I really like the functionality of this particular router.
