What Customers Are Saying
The Blue Hawk Black Tapping Block is a useful tool for installing laminate flooring, but it has some durability issues. Many found the block to be fragile and prone to cracking or breaking, especially when used with a hard mallet or for larger projects. However, when used carefully with a rubber mallet, the block was effective at securing the flooring without damage. The tapping block may work well for small jobs, but may not be durable enough for professional or large-scale installations.

Would Not RecommendI glad I had my wife get two after the first one broke. The block has a step in it to lap over the flooring. The block split at the step on the first two. The block is plastic and the step just slit off the main part of the block.
Junk
Would Not RecommendMaybe these work for a weekend warrior, but these don't last for a professional installation crew. Some last a day. Some last a couple of taps. Yes taps, but none make it an entire house.
Worked Great, Until It Broke
Would Not RecommendI did about 1,000 sq. ft. of laminate flooring, and went through 3 of these tapping blocks. They work awesome until they break. I wish they had been made of a more sturdy material, or even had a metal core to them.
absolute junk
Would Not Recommendbought the installation kit and returned it once already. broke this piece twice. worked good on solid hardwoods for 20 mins until broken.
very useful. but not durable
Would Recommendthe tool was very useful and made doing my 160sq foot kitchen, very easy. however, 3/4 of the way thru the smaller edge broke off. and on my last full piece of flooring the tool broke into 3 pieces. I would buy again if I needed to do more flooring. but would really like to see it made more durable.
Unnecessary
Would Not RecommendJust use scraps of the flooring to tap the née piece into place.

Found out I really needed this
Would RecommendI didn't think I would need this for my flooring project since I did another floor without one but this time I needed it. The 2x4 block that I used previously kept leaving little chips of wood on my project. It worked perfectly but I found it to be a little small and difficult to hold stationary. I have a black index finger nail on my left hand as proof of this claim.

Garbage
Would Not RecommendI broke two of these in two days. After the first one broke, I thought it was a fluke so I bought a second one. It lasted only two hours of use. If you are going to make something that is to be hit with a hammer, it needs to be of a durable material.
Works As Described But Poor Quality
Would RecommendWorks as described and couldn't do the job without it. However, the tapping block is poor quality and breaks easily. Buy an extra tapping block and you'll be good then, hopefully.

Save your money`
Would Not RecommendBlock broke after only a few hits with a dead blow mallet.

Worthless tapping block
Would Not RecommendThis tapping block is about worthless, it has a very low profile and doesn't lock into flooring very well. Many times it would slip off the flooring I was installing
Poor Quality
Would Not RecommendThe tapping block is lightweight, easy to use, but not sturdy enough to withstand the tapping during an entire job. The block broke into two pieces midway through my installation project. I bought two additional blocks to replace it (expecting another one to break) because it was the only tapping block Lowes carried.

Worked but broke
Would Not RecommendThe tapping block worked good for the first 1000 sq foot of flooring but then shattered when I was tapping and had to get another one. Otherwise, it worked good. I would buy another brand if there was an option again but Lowes did not have any other brand.

Not worth the bother
Would Not RecommendEnded up using a piece of scrap flooring to do same thing. And scrap worked better
