What Customers Are Saying
Customers are split on effectiveness: many report consistent bug reduction with dead insects in traps and fewer patio bugs, while a large group experienced zero results despite weeks of use. Reviewers widely praise the LED brightness and convenient dual light-zapper toggle feature, plus the included cleaning brush. However, several note the bulb's large size prevents installation in standard fixtures. Some report premature burnout or missing zapping sounds. Overall, roughly half find it effective for mosquitoes and gnats, while others consider it ineffective, particularly against flies.

Did Not Work for Me
Would Not RecommendSad to report that I continue to get bit. The blue light inside the bulb is only about 1.5 inches long so not that noticeable. I tried this because it was the only indoor bug zapper. HD did not have any better options in their store either. I hope you have better results.
good but short lived
the bug zapping part stopped working after a day. the light stopped working after 3 days. disappointing. not recommended.
Good idea
Would Not RecommendThe main light will come on randomly if the bug zapper is on and I’m not sure how effective it is. Concept is cool though.

Might work on large bugs but not on tiny ones.
Would Not RecommendWell, I don’t know if this thing works or not. It did not catch the pests I bought it to catch, but it might work on larger bugs. I bought it to catch fruit flies, but either they are not attracted to it, or the grid is too large for them, and they just pass through it. It has not caught one bug inside the house, but I might try putting it outside to see if it works any better on the carport.

Great Product
Would RecommendI was hesitant to buy after reading the reviews. I am certainly glad I did. This thing works like a charm with mosquitos and moths. Bought it mostly for mosquitos and it definitely reduced the amount I see. They used to hide in my carport for the shade but I put this up and I keep it on all day and night on the zapper only mode and it's solid. Glad I got it.
Works on phorid flies!
Would RecommendQuietly going about its job exterminating those miserable hump back flies in the Phoridae family that infest drains, composts, and damp house plants, all without chemicals; this device works. Put several out around the house where they are in direct sight of fly sources for best results. And clean the fixture every 2 weeks or so to keep the flies coming in!
nice light, don't know how many bugs zapped though
Would RecommendPlaced this light in the outdoor fan over my patio dining table. Living in Texas, Mosquitos in particular are a nuisance about 9 months out of the year. After using the zapper function for 4 nights in a row (during mosquito season), I took the light down and removed the cover to the zapper. Sadly, I found only 1 mosquito. So, I don't know if it doesn't work well, or if the open cage design just doesn't hold the carcasses well.
Nice idea
Would RecommendI like the idea behind this light bulb zapper but not sure about the reality of how it works. It fits a standard light socket so no problem with the install. I left it on for approximately 2 hours, when I can back there were no dead bugs on the ground nor did I hear any get zapped. Overall quality and construction are good just not sure it has enough voltage to actually zap the bugs.
Like the 9-Watt Electric Bug Zapper
Would RecommendI was so nice and convenient to easily screw the Zapper into a light switch. I believe it works very well for small jobs of managing bugs, e.g. screened in back or front porch/deck out even camping in spring or fall. If you want big, get a big zapper. Overall, it works for my intended purposes.
Nice but big
Would RecommendThis bug zapper gives out a lot of light. It functions as advertised and illuminates my 25 X 8 ft. patio. There is a mode for zapper only or zapper + light, selectable by flipping the switch off and on 1 or 2 times. Be aware, however, that it is large. If you are planning to install it in a fixture, you may want to measure first. I have it in a simple 4 X 4 in. carriage light fixture. The diameter fits, but just barely. And the bulb protrudes below the fixture. Also, in order to let bugs...
