Good as a replacement

Is it possible to refill one of these? The original roll lasted for 2 years of occasional use

very poor design. the spool should not unravel.

I was disappointed with this product. When I removed it and got the product ready to put into the grass trimmer half of the plastic line unravelled into a big mess.

I bought to replace a spindle for my trimmer which had run out of line. Installation was easy and turned what is usually a tedious task of winding line into a snap in operation.

No problems with this product.

Although others have lamented there purchase of the weed eater, I have had no problems. Excellent as an edger and very easy to handle as a weed eater. Would recommend to anyone.

Easy to Install

Don't use much during the year, but this is so much easier than winding my own when we ran out.

Design Flaws

This is a chicken/egg design paradox. Is the B/D Trimmer the line runs through of poor design or is it the line itself that exacerbated the overfeed problem? Hard to say, but if you own the B/D Trimmer requiring this line - when the devil says dance, you dance. Easy install & replacement. Pricey at $8 per 40' spool (mainly due to overfeed waste) Get in the habit of carrying a utility knife while trimming - you'll need it to snip off overfeeds.

Gone in 2 minutes

These just don't last. I bought this Black and Decker trimmer at the end of last season and only used it once. I burned through all the line at that time, which I thought that was really strange. At the beginning of this season, I remembered that I needed to replace the line, so I went bought one of these replacement spools. I got through about 60 SF of area before the line ran out. I did not notice that this was feeding overly fast. Nothing seemed to be wrong - no tangles, etc. I did go up agai...

Poor design

Feeds excessively. Doesn't feed out like 3" or 6", it comes out like 9-18" and if you don't have guard on, it's tangled and you're cutting it off wasting time and money. Very poor line feed design.

Not the Trimmer Line Itself

It is not so much the trimmer line itself as the Trimmer. I replaced my last Trimmer with this new trimmer from Black & Decker and I am disappointed in it as well. I was unable to rethread the original spool, despite the fact that I took a lot of time doing it correctly, just to have it chop all up within a few yards of yard. I bought a replacement spool, and it lasted a little longer, but not long enough to do my yard, which isn't very large. I suspect that I need a higher quality of Trimmer it...

Trimmer Line

I would not have bought this weed wacker if I knew that I would have to change the trimmer line cartridge so often. I would have bought a model that I could have added line to without having to replace the cartridge over and over again. Too expensive.

Frustrating

The product kept getting wrapped around the shaft and I had to take it out of the holder and rewind it several times. Each roll did not last very long either. The price jumped over $2/roll from last year.

Both lines at one point will tangle and when you try to fix it, it will unravel. No matter how well you try to wind them correctly it will never work properly. I wasted so much time winding it. It is so bad that the trimmer is not working because it kept unraveling and the lines tangled underneath where it spins and jammed it. Now it won't spin. I've had this trimmer for two months. Now I have to purchase another one. Another model!
