I resent that I have to purchase this item at all. I buy the replacement line to rewind on the spool that came with the trimmer. But it never works correctly. This new model with an upper and lower spool just doesn't work. I have to rewind extremely carefully so as not to overlap or cross over - and it still doesn't work well. Don't waste your money on the trimmer!!!!

Don't waste your money on the trimmer and you won't have to waste your time and money looking for the line to make it work. It has only one pre spooled line that fits it and if the store is out you are of of luck.. You can't load the spool with line yourself without loosing your mind and money you spent on the line..

Better purchase these by the dozen

When I purchased my trimmer, there was (of course) a cassette of filament in it. When it ran out after 3 uses, a friend advised me that it was just a cost-cutting method being used by the company to let you use the trimmer before needing to purchase larger replacement cassettes. Nothing but Trouble with the 2-line Spool

I have bought Black & Decker Grass Hog trimmers for years -- mainly because they are electric and easier than gas to start; plus there's no bumping -- the line is automatically fed from the spool. These trimmers have a 2-year warranty which B&D honors without question. Since each model starts to break down by the end of the 2nd year, if you time it right, it might be replaced under warranty. Gets the job done.

It fits our weed eater so we buy it. I don't really know if the issue is with the spool or the machine, but sometimes it release too much string and I have to stop and wrap it back up. It's easy enough and doesn't happen constantly so I just deal with it.

Just what I wanted

Just wished it had more length to a spool. It gets "eaten up" pretty fast and you need to change spools frequently

Hate, horrible!

I have used this product several times hoping that maybe, just maybe the next one would work. Wrong!! It unravels quickly, it lengthens to a point where it strikes me in the foot or leg with the twine. Very painful. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Grasshog Trimmer Replacement String

Very easy to install this replacement string into the trimmer's compartment. Everything worked perfectly once the string was routed through the trimmer's string holes. From opening the package, it took all of 2-3 minutes to install and I was back to work. Very good design by Black & Decker.

Lousy quality

This is the worst line I have ever used! I bought 4 spools all at one time. I went through all 4 within a month due to it auto-feeding extreme length (sometimes 2ft at a time). I bought yet another spool only to have trimmer strip a gear before replacing it! I promptly returned it !!!!!

Good buy

Lasted longer than expected and was easy to install

It's an ok product...For a spool of line...

I buy the pre-wound spools because winding them myself is just too aggravating. I don't have a problem with the spools, but the Black and Decker weed trimmer it fits into is a piece of junk. I have actually replaced the B&D trimmer with a Craftsman that has been very good so far.

When it works it's very good

One out of 3 spools are "defective". I buy 3 at a time just so I will have one that works. The double thread line can "jump" its compartment and cause the feeder to jam. It is a self feeding line but it can continue to feed until it wraps around the outside cap and cause a huge problem. Also several of the spools I purchased have had the trimmer line fused together so it couldn't feed if it wanted to.

CHEAP TRIMMER

The idea is good, but I've been through 3 of these trimmers in the last year. I've bought the same kind partially because of the price, and partially because I have string left over. The string idea feeding from both directions is a good idea in theory, but actual use is not so great. Gets caught and tangles under wrot iron fences, gets wrapped around inside trimmer above feeder line, (which is how 2 of the trimmers died). Disappointing experience with this Product.

This double spool design does not feed simostenously, therefore leaving you with one line longer than the other. Availability of this product is often difficult to find at Lowes Stores. I will not purchase this model in the future. I will be looking for a new weed wacker/trimmer soon.

As trim line goes this one is easy to replace. Took me 10 minutes no problem.
