I don't know whether to give credit to the cleaning solution or the cleaner itself... but when I bought my cleaning machine I figured it would probably be best to get the solution that was meant for it. Would RecommendVery easy to use and measure with the provided cap measuring cup. It did an amazing job of getting a couple years of high traffic dirt out of a commercial grade carpet. I could not believe how well it was able to get the grime out. The dirty water was black and the carpet was amazingly clean. Night and day the difference before and after the cleaning.
