Would Not Recommend

Drains batteries in 3 days; get ready to replace and buy new ones often. Constantly needs to be disconnected and or reset, which means you have to manually reenter all of yours guests codes each time...FUN! Guests for all four of my smart keypads are not receiving codes automatically after booking, making this equipment irrelevant! DO NOT BUY

Good with one issue so far

Would Recommend

My wife loves this so far. Her phone was not consistently auto unlocking the door, so we added the keypad. However, it stopped working after about a week. Removed the batteries and tested them, and they were a little low already. I replaced them and it’s up and running again. Hope they last longer going forward!!!

Have to press the number hard

Would Recommend

When I try to enter my code, I have to press the number hard, or else it won’t recognize that I press the number, then I’ll get the wrong error code, and have to try again. This is not great, especially standing outside your door at night and having to repeatedly enter in my code.

Does not last

A temperamental keypad that drains batteries and does not last! We installed it 18 months ago and it has already failed. Called technical support to troubleshoot and they confirmed that it is no longer working.

Useful pretty reliable blue tooth key pad

I ordered this to replace the original August keypad because the tiny clip on the bottom that secures it to the mounting bracket broke off. That little snap clip is very hard to reach and release, thus the first one snapped. This is definitely a design flaw. Also, as much as it is an essential component of the August Lock system, it uses up batteries much too quickly, lately within 2-3 weeks. This is another flaw.

Keypad broken in less than 2 years

I have been very happy with this system but for whatever reason, the keypad is connecting to my internet, but when I try to unlock the door, the pad no longer lights up and does not unlock my door. Make sure you have a back up plan to get into your house, especially if your phone is not on your hip all the time. I was lucky that another door was unlocked and was still able to get in. Disappointing that products just don't last anymore and all one can do it replace it, which I am going to do with...

On my 3rd one in 30 days

Overall a great keypad but easily has internal errors. Have needed to replace two units within 30 days and am now on a third keypad. Both of the units that broke were because of internal hardware or software issues. I am in the desert where it doesn't rain and the units never are in direct sunlight. One day they were working, the next they were not. Being out of warranty on both, I was forced to buy a new one. Hopefully this one does not give out too.

Greet when it works. Nightmare to troubleshoot.

We bought this for our airbnb so that guests could easily get in. When it works it does the job it’s expected to do. But it doesn’t always work. The battery life is not great and you can’t even see a battery level on the app, which is so stupid to me. You just have to wait for a notification that the batteries are almost dead and then you have one or two days to change them. If you have any issue with the wifi at your house the keypad can disconnect from the system and you can’t troubleshoot it ...

Difficult to find replacement unit in Malaysia

Doesn’t ship to Malaysia. It’s difficuly to find replacement unit in Malaysia. My unit only lasts 3 years. It’s too plasticky and the rubber buttons made it a bit difficult to touch the inner panel. Have to press harder and several times everytime to unlock door.

Although I got this for 50% off, I still consider it pricey. It is especially useful for exiting, as you can lock the door with just the push of 1 button. It is also nice you can have different codes for different people.

Good Enough Although Not At the Price

The premium price is not shown in the software. The hardware looks and works well enough. The software, though (possibly due to hardware limitations) is so-so. The battery drain is higher than competitive products that I have used and the experience within the app needs refinement to mitigate/less the feeling around latency issues and responsiveness.
