What Customers Are Saying
The Kobalt post hole digger received mixed reviews. Many customers found it well-designed and durable, with pointed metal tips, sturdy construction, and comfortable handles that made digging holes easier, especially in softer soils. However, some reported issues with its performance and durability, struggling in harder, rockier soil and experiencing broken or loose components after extended use. The overall consensus suggests the digger is a good option for softer soils, but may not be as effective in more demanding conditions.

Would RecommendBy far superior to any post hole diggers on the market. Every single thing about these is that better than any other postal diggers, under a hundred and ten dollars.
worlds best post hole diggers
Would RecommendAt 60 years of age, farm, and rancher, i have experienced many post hole diggers. none compare to these one. Of course, when you finally find something good, they get stolen, and now this product is no longer available. Please bring them back.
Only good if your digging in mud
Would Not RecommendThe blades don't go together close enough to get a bite of dry dirt. It falls right out. Worst design I ever tried to use.
Cracked and Broke
Would Not Recommendworked fine for a while , but the fiberglass handle cracked and broke in my hand. in fact I almost broke my arm.
Real Heavy Duty
Would RecommendI hate purchasing new tools as replacements for tools that break or don't do the job. This tool will be passed down at least one generation. It is very heavy duty and weights a ton. Just dropping it in a hole will get you a few inches deeper over lighter diggers. I was very impressed with it. I dug 4 deep 36" holes in no time and this unit will out last me. I spray a little oil on the digger head and that helps keep dirt from sticking and oils the jaws. The metal poles are heavy and well built. ...
Not very good
Would Not RecommendHad the digger for a few years. worked good in soft soil. As soon as i got into some serious digging, the handle bent and cracked at the pivot bolt. If you only dig in soft soil, they're good, just don't put them under much stress. Handles won't hold up.
Well made
Would RecommendThis post hole digger is well made and worth the cost. You can measure your hole without another tool with the measurements on the side of the digger. I would purchase again.
Great post hole digger
Would RecommendUsed this to dig fence post holes. This worked very well and was easy to dig down 27" or more. The measurements on the tool are great for estimating depth quickly. The took cut through the ga red clay with ease. The handle grips were good and did not cause any blisters. Overall a great tool for digging post holes.
Good value
Would RecommendThe post diggers themselves are well made, but the handles are the weak link. The lifetime warranty convinced me to buy them anyway, but I later was told ny a Lowe's employee that Kobalt warranties will not be handled in the store in the future. Nonetheless, I got these for $11 and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at that price.

What a hole (whole) digger.
Would RecommendThe only way this could be better is if somebody did the digging for you!
Best of the best!
Best I've ever used. I had a two foot hole dug before I realized it. Highly recommend these. They sure make a hard day easier.
Really works great.
Would RecommendI got this for setting up basic poles in my back yard.My soil is really hard and was able to dig holes easily.A little pricey though but i think the tool itself speaks for it .
Works but is disappointing
Would Not RecommendThis hole digger is nice and easy to use, but doesn’t move dirt nearly as well as my old set of Post hole diggers.
Does wonders
Would RecommendReplaced my ancient hole digger with this. Does exactly what it’s suppose to do.
Works really well
Would RecommendVery well made so you don't have to worry about breaking the handles.
Go simpler
Would Not RecommendI opted for this post hole digger thinking it would be easier on my hands and arms than a solid handled one. But the way these are designed makes for a couple of loose nuts that I had to stop & tighten a few times during the day. I think the simpler design of the wooden handled diggers would've been a better pick. These aren't bad and will get the job done, but I'd go with simpler next time.
