Too much wood
Would Not RecommendAs noted in other reviews, there is too much mulch and wood bits in this soil. I used several bags-looked good at first but after a lite rain all the wood bits were exposed. It looks like 30-50% of the bag was non-topsoil.
Garbage
Would Not RecommendI used this to fill in an area of dead grass, put seed down. I didn't have enough soil for the area and a week later I was at Ace and bought their top soil. It was a dollar more a bag. Guess what! The lowes stuff had a week head start, same sun, same water. The Ace soil has grass growing like crazy, even had to mow it, a month later the lowes area is barely coming up. Don't buy this stuff. Spend the extra dollar and go another place. Cheap topsoil
Would RecommendNice and dark. Plants like it, is a colorado product. My only complaint is its loaded with wood... but the price is right.
Versatile but light, has compost
Would RecommendA fine product. Be aware it's not simply soil. It contains compost as well and generally should be blended with existing soil. Worked wonderfully without mixing for fresh seeded grass and filling low spots, but was too light a mix (unless blended with local clay-rich soil) to adequately tamp for projects that require grading or mounding.
