Would Not RecommendPurchased this model from my local Lowe's in April 2021. Good price, and the sensor installed easily using a piece of PVC as a mast on my rooftop. The sensor started sending information to the display unit instantly, and even the initial setup with my wireless router went well. Within a day or 2 my station was established on WU and I could monitor the history, trends, rainfall accumulation, etc. just as presented in the advertisement. Great so far. Disappointing
Would Not RecommendThis weather station will not connect to WiFi as advertised. The connection instructions are not very clear. Step 3 of the instructions says: "Connect to the WiFi signal (named AcuRite 01516) of the Acurite display from your computer or mobile device." No such wifi signal shows up on my network, so there is no way to connect to wifi. However, the weather station display does communicate with the sensor and displays the weather outside my home. Don't expect much support.
Would RecommendI spent a lot of time trying to get help because the WiFi connection to my phone wouldn't work. Always got just canned procedures emailed back to me, and I could never talk to a person. It is still not working, but this isn't a critical need - just be nice if it worked. They did offer to replace the display.

works well, but where's Max wind speed?
Would Recommendthis 5-1 weather station so far works well. I just wish the max windspeed would be indicated with the current wind speed all the time and not have to toggle through settings to retrieve it like our much older 3-1 system did.

Does Save Wind Speed (not on unit though)
Would RecommendOnly 4 stars now because have only had it for a few days. To 'frustrated' who says that it doesn't record wind history, I almost didn't purchase this because of your feedback (my last one held the wind history and was concerned about that too), however I found that if you use it with Weatherunderground.com, that site will save your historical wind by day, week, or month so you can see it in a graph.
