Great for the money

Easy to set up. This device is the most affordable and comprehensive weather station. It's great for sharing your weather on the internet.

IDIOTIC DESIGN

I purchased one of these from Cabelas about 7 years ago, Excellent Weather station. I was able to mount it on a cabinet and run the AC cable through a hole I drilled. The one I purchased from lowe's had a curved back on it which was not suitable for a wall mount even though it had slots to accommodate screws for that. Too expensive for what it does.

This product is too expensive for what it does. Setting up the display panel is also difficult and one must be tech savvy to get it working. The information is not customizable, there is no app, you don’t get a weather forecast, the time doesn’t self adjust, etc. The only useful information is the current inside/outside temperature and wind speed/direction. I do not recommend spending $130 on this product.

Check your router speed before buying

The product works well as a weather station, but seriously lacks in WiFi connectivity. The station only words with a 2.4 GHz router. Newer routers operate at 5.0 GHz. The company doesn’t offer a work around, so you cannot connect to the internet.

Functional and easy to set up

I liked the clean look and user friendly set up. It could offer an extension pole to life the station higher from the mounting spot. The display is very difficult to read. The angle has to be just right to see it from any distance.

For my unit, windy days = interpretation of rain. This really sucks when you live in location with little to no rain fall, yet you measure and record it. I live on top of hill and when the wind gust beyond 20mph this unit starts detecting rain, which is then falsely logged on the device historian, incorrect on the web app and an absolute lie for precipitation shared to meteorologist in that network that they make you join to have the web or phone app. Ensure you mount unit were it is very easy...

NOT What I Expected

It looked like a great product on-line, but I soon found out it wasn't. It says it takes about a week to 'acclimatize' to your area, but after 2 weeks, it still ONLY shows 40 degrees all day long, every day. The other part I didn't realize is it costs $30 a year for the Underground Weather App for it to do everything promised on the box. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Not user friendly at all

I had read reviews on the particular weather station and they weren't great but since this was a gift I had it. Acurite doesn't even have an app to go with this weather station so you have to create an account with Weather Underground, which I did. I still haven't been able to connect to that account. Very frustrating that in this age of technology it has to be so complicated.
