Okay can

Safety clip on spout is a design flaw. So now you are holding a 5 gallons worth of fuel and have to take one of your hands off can to release the spout to pour even though it is spring shut.

The spout is not flexible and it takes forever for the fuel to dispense from the container due to the design for air to enter the container to keep a solid flow exiting.

Do not buy

Bought a new gas can to replace my 1950 miltary 5 gallon can that leaks. This new one leaks worse and the spout might as well leave it alone does not turn. Worthless gas can. Emailed the company but they will not respond . Should of read the reviews first would of saved some money

Horrible design

This can has horrible design flaws. First of all there's no second handle on the side like most cans to make it easier to tilt. This is an especially important feature for a 5 gallon can that can have substantial weight when filled. Secondly the spout has only 2 modes - closed and full speed. You are GUARANTEED to spill gas with this can. Like the other reviewers, this can is going back. Unfortunately Lowes doesn't have a reasonable alternative so it's off to Home Depot.

Peace of junk

All the new can spouts are useless and do not last!!! Lowes price and service was great. This type of can is sold every where and and I hate them!!!

Poor design!!!!!

If you like getting gas all over you hands and all over the place go for it. Needs to be pulled from the shelf and discontinued.

Junk

This is a good gas can if you like the smell of gas and diesel on you all day. Think they put safety nozzle on there because old cans were unsafe. I spill more gas than ever before. Stupid design, stupid designer! Just spilled diesel on me five minutes ago can you tell?

Absolute junk

Picked one of these up with the intent of fueling up my tractor. The spout that comes with it has a lip that must be depressed in order to release fuel. It cant be locked open, it has to be pressed against something or nothing comes out. I removed the "safety feature" from the spout, but then it had a split that runs halfway up it rendering the already short spout even more useless. With or without the spout the non vented fuel can pours fuel at an abysmally slow pace and takes big gulps of air....

I'm not sure why Lowe's carries these. They're the worst pourspouts ever made and should be sent back to the drawing board on whoever invented them. Do not purchase this I repeat do not.

Useless

Besides the issues with the EPA approved locking spout, The spout leaks at the base when you apply pressure to the spout to open the spill proof spout. It leaks from the base therefore all over you. The screw in cap is of poor design and allows the spout to move around allowing the gasket not to seal. I bought 4 of them for back up fuel for my motorhome on a 5 day camping trip where I had no hookups. Lowes should do a random quality check on there products. New Diesel can

A good buy from Lowe's and seems to be an item that will be around for a while. The only issue is the fact that since 2009 or so the government has required the fuel storage guys to put safety nozzles on everything as if we do not have enough sense to pour fuel out of these without spilling it. At least this model is less trouble than some others I have. Overall I am well satisfied with product and I am sure it work just fine.

Change the spout

I like the fuel can for quality and the value, but change the spout to an easier to use version.

Safety cans don't work normally. This one was surprising. They did something right!

High Value

This diesel can has a vented funnel which makes for easy dispensing of fuel. Cap and plug simple to use.

Hate these safety features

These safet features cause me to spill more fuel than the old fashion can. I am forced to removing the fuel spout and pouring fuel directly from the container. Can only assume this is a government mandated safety spout.

will it pour?

This fuel can had a funky lock on the spout. I personally could not get it to work. This can is a waste of money. Buy something else that has a simple cap for the spout.

Served the purpose

This container is very un-user friendly, No vent in the container itself. The furnished pour spout is horrible design. There is a safety built into the spout itself which is very difficult to release when the container is full. Once again NO air vent in the container so it takes for ever for the fuel to empty out of the container. One of the worst designed and manufactured products I have experienced.
