Lead paint test

The directions were very easy to understand. Once you break the tube and swab the area for 30 seconds my test results showed a pinkish red color to confirm the lead paint. So easy to use.

Instant results. I just wanted peace of mind before scraping old paint off of trim in my house

Paint lead test went great

It took some detailed reading on the instructions but once I learned how to do the test it went very well. Thankfully the paint in my basement was fine. Good stuff and easy to use.

Unsure

I followed the directions and got a negative test I believe. I did not see any pink on the test. However it was brown from the wood stain or paint that was on the windowsill I was testing I believe. It makes me a little concerned that quite possibly it did turn pink, but was masked by the discoloration from the wood windowsill. I tested it twice and got the same results.

GARBAGE

These things are garbage. Not any of them worked , either dried up or just garbage . Just do not waste your money on them . Total waste !

Delayed/Confusing Results

Tested this on a door frame and windowsill. The test came back negative on both sticks, turning a dirty brownish orange. It also left a bit of the liquid from the applicator on the sill and frame in the process. I let it sit on the sill as I couldn't believe a house built in 1890 didn't have lead paint, especially around the window, but hey maybe the trim wasn't painted until 100 years later. Quick, easy & better than competitor’s

Better than FirstResponse test kit given the red rather than yellow test color. Even a faint red (positive result) is clearly distinguishable from the yellow used with FirstResponse kit.

Lead Paint

Simple, easy to use. The quickest way I know to detect lead paints. Even has a test strip if you question if it is working properly.

Easy to use

Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Comes with test card to verify that the swabs can detect lead. Gave me the comfort that the paint being removed was leas free.

Good but delayed results

I purchased this instant lead test to test paint on an old mantel I had intended on refinishing but the results were not instant but delayed by about 2 hours. It actually never showed pink or red on the test applicator but I accidentally spilled some on the white painted mantel and when I looked at it a couple of hours later I noticed a bright pink drip in the area of the mantel where I tested. I wasn't sure if that was a positive lead result so I called the manufacturer and the nice lady I talk...

Works but better documentation on expected colors

This kit worked except there was a lot of orange color and I couldn’t tell if that was a positive result or not. It was certainly not anywhere near the shade of the test spot, so the I have to go and google what an orange result may mean. Could be nothing? Could be barium? Is barium bad like lead?? Etc...I just want more info on any and all expected colors.

Doubtful

Used on exterior ceder siding. Positive on a older section of chipping paint and also same bright pink (positive) on a stain I applied about ten years ago. This cant be right as modern paints/stains do not contain lead

Quick, Simple

Quick, easy and inexpensive. I was considering whether to refinish some furniture for a baby. The test took less than 5 minutes to do. Lead free, yay! Sure put my mind at ease.

Very reliable testing device

As a professional painter I’ve been using this product for years and it works well. Be sure to break all capsules and shake it well. Then squeeze a small amount of the yellowish liquid from the dabber on to the item to be tested. If it turns red it’s lead.
