The Magnolia Home paint made by Kilz works great on covering old surfaces. I used it repaint the front door where our dog had scratched it. It covered well and left a nice smooth finish. Definitely would recommend

Great

Love the quality of the paint (no question) however two things that you must be aware of. 1- you will need more than one coat per surface which isn’t a problem but something to be aware of. 2- you may find the fumes on the higher end of the scale. So make sure to paint in a well ventilated area or wear a good respirator.

Glossier than expected.

This is a nice can of paint. It is easily applied with either a brush or roller and the cleanup is easy with water. It took a few coats to get the coverage I wanted and the dry sheen is a little glossier than I was expecting but overall a nice paint.

Went on easy!

I was excited to try this furniture paint. I have never painted any furniture and I thought this would be a good paint to start with. I did use primer on my project before using the paint. When it came to painting, the paint went on with no issues. It went on very smooth and there were no streaks. I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to use. I did put 2 coats of paint on my piece and it still looked good. The color is a true match and it is very versatile.

Beautiful color!

I used this for a wall that I just didn't know what to do with. The color was beautiful and easy to apply. I had to use two coats, but the previous color was dark and I didn't bother to prime, so this worked fine. I thought it would lighten as it dried, but it did not, so it was a little darker than expected, but I ended up loving it anyway.

Great for DIY projects

Works great on a little squirrel table I made. I'm really looking forward to trying it on a dresser! One or two coats should do, cleans up with a little water. You could add some poly on top for extra protection too.

Magnolia Home Cabinetry & Furniture Paint, Satin - True White is a very durable, easy to use paint to refinish the cabinets. I painted my kitchen cabinets using this paint. The paint covered my 1979 oak cabinets very well. The paint went in smooth and it was easy to clean up. There was not a strong lingering pint Oder after using the paint.

Good but not one coat

Great but not one coat. You will almost certainly need additional coats (two or three at least) to get the project covered properly. It’s fast drying time is a great plus.

Good paint for beginners

This is not as good as I thought it would be but color is great just gonna need more then two coats. I decided to use on a spot that was not seen before I applied to where I wanted to use it. I know it’s a furniture paint but my door is solid wood so figured it should work. This was inside a closet door that wasn’t painted inside. Works good but we’ll need more than one coat.

Excellent paint, pretty color

I purchased this paint in the semi-gloss and my vanity looks incredible! The paint covered well (I primed and sanded first) and you can hardly see flaws. The color, Silverado Sage, looks a tad more blue in my space but given the right light it’s the most beautiful sage color. Not too light and not too dark. I’d buy this paint again for future furniture projects.

Paint went on easy and looks great. It's a thick paint. Great coverage with no odor. Easy to clean paint from brushes. Paint goes on so smooth, it's durable & colors are beautiful.

This paint has a rich, thick consistency. It requires a small amount of mixing. Once mixed. I used a roller and pan with a drop cloth and everything went well.

Good coverage but dry time too quick

I found this product to be just okay for a small table. I did sand and prime the piece prior to painting and still ended up with some brush strokes especially on the legs of the table. I used a high quality round brush designed for round spindles, etc. as well as a high quality angled brush for the flat portions. I think the main problem I had with this paint was the short dry time. I barely had time to paint the very small top before it started drying. When a went to clean up a “drip” over...

nice white paint for shelves

I had some dead space in the wall in my home gym and wanted to put a built-in shelving unit in there to store stuff needed for doing workouts. The problem with latex paint is that if you use it for shelves, eventually everything sticks to the shelves and it makes a huge mess. This paint is what you need instead. When it dries the surface of the shelves is hard coated and things don't stick. I rolled it on with a tight nap roller and the results look great. I did two coats of the top/bottom ...

True White Satin interior Magnolia Home cabinetry Furniture Paint by Joanna Gaines with KILZ for the win. I painted the trim in my kitchen this true white color and decided to also paint my bathroom cabinet the same true white. This paint looks amazing no matter the exsperience level of the painter. Thank you Lowe's and Thank you Joanna Gaines for my beautiful new updated cabinets! I am in love.

Will be my new go to brand.

We wanted to paint our kitchen cabinets for years and always wanted to get the right paint. Well here is definitely the right paint. Was trying to keep from strippingbthe doors all the way down to wood. So we did a good good of the cabinets and painted. Have not had an issue yet. Thank Chip and Joanne!

Wow best paint

This is some of the best paint we have ever used. Once we brought it home and realized it has a olastice lid, that was a bonus for me. The lid will not bend and leave and opening for the oaint ro dry. It taps right on. The paint seems to apply on one stroke of the brush or roller. We painted the cabinets and didnt need to sand just a good cleaning. Must have, will use AGAIN!

Goes on thick and sets fast no chance to flow

I used a high quality brush for this interior paint for a piece of furniture and the viscosity is too high and didn't have the flow to even the brush strokes, I should have used the brush just for the cracks and crevices and a roller for the main body of the piece.

WOW! Love this for my project!!!

This will probably be long...but I hope it is worth it for others! If you look at our photos, you will see a retaining wall at the lake house we purchased recently. It is a cinder block wall and is SO ugly! This paint has TRANSFORMED this wall! On the can, it says a roller is recommended. However, that is probably "project specific" because in my case, a brush worked so much better. I was able to get in all the cracks and holes best using a brush. The texture of this paint is amazing!
