All new room, a little more homey feel

Newest foster son arrived and he decided he wanted to have his room white. Since the previous occupant of the room chose a dark color, it required two coats for full coverage. I think it would probably be fine with one coat if the previous color was lighter. It's a good price and exactly what he needed to feel like he was in his own space.

was painting a room and painting over white and light blue, the paint came out almost clear. My husband knew he was getting cheaper paint and didn't expect it to be perfect but to not even really cover the white was very disapointing. Tried calling Vaspur Customer Service and there wasn't really an option to request support with a purchase, so I just choose the closest option and waited over 10 minutes before giving up.

Would not recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the Valspar 4000 to save some money and wish I hadn't. Shows everything... especially the fingerprints and hand marks from the grandkids. Not worth the savings since it all has to be repainted.

Paint changes wall color!

We just bought our first house! One room was a warm pumpkin orange, which is a lovely color for pumpkins but does not align with my ideas for aesthetic room colors. We painted one coat of kilz, and two coats of this. Having to paint two additional coats on top of the kilz was a bit frustrating, but in the end the room was transformed and my daughter was convinced to “choose” it as her room. Mission accomplished!

Food coloring in water

I just wanted to touch up a garage wall that had already been painted and did not want to spend a ton of money. After 3 coats of paint, you can't even tell I did a thing. Did not even cover up pencil lines, let alone mud. See picture for proof.

Used to be great

Back when the paint can had "Contractor Coat" on it, it would cover really well. Now it's basically watered down and it's taking 3 coats (even over a primer section of the wall due to patching) of light paint colors. Seems like 2000 might be what this formula used to be.

Great value.

I have plaster walls and it only took two coats. It didn't separate in can and clean up was simple.

Awful smell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this paint a week ago and painted my bedroom. It smells so awful, even after a week of dry time. Still can't sleep in the room after a week. I can't believe it has no VOC's with that much fume emissions!
