it was broken
didn't realize it till I got to job ,but the end that flares down was cracked and broken. this the second time somthing like this has happend when I picked up an order. lastime I got a drain kit for sink and it was open and missing a part ,thankfully I caught it before I left and had them get me one that wasnt open.
