This 30” electric cooktop features Downdraft, an integrated ventilation system that doesn’t require a separate hood. A 10-inch Even-Heat™ Ultra element provides versatility for both high- and low-temperature cooking, and has multiple simmer settings. And with a 3-speed fan with 300 CFM exhaust rating, the venting can keep up with your culinary feats.

Downdraft ventilation integrates the ventilation system into the cooking surface so that a separate hood is not needed - smoke and odors can be removed and taken outside or filtered and recirculated inside
10-in Even-Heat™ Ultra element with simmer setting provides more versatility for high and low temperature cooking techniques
6-in Even-Heat™ element with melt setting combines the benefits of Even-Heat™ Technology with a dedicated setting that reaches the low temperatures needed to melt chocolate or butter without scorching
300 CFM exhaust rating handles the venting requirements of high temperature cooking techniques like pan searing and stir-frying
3-speed fan control can be precisely matched to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air
Glass surface provides a sophisticated appearance with saturated colors
10-in/6-in Ultra Power™ double-ring round element - two element sizes in one provide the ability to use it for large stock pots or six-inch sauté pans and handle tasks ranging from rapid boiling and searing to wok cooking
Convertible to duct-free ventilation - allows a downdraft cooktop to be placed nearly anywhere in the kitchen using a duct-free conversion kit (not included - part number- JDA7000WX)
6-in round element can reach a power output of up to 1200 watts to handle your daily cooking needs

What Customers Are Saying

The KitchenAid downdraft cooktop offers powerful burners, effective downdraft feature, and rapid, even heating. Many customers find it to be a significant upgrade, praising its sleek design and easy cleaning. However, some report issues with the durability and scratch-resistance of the glass surface, which can crack, bubble, or be difficult to keep clean. The control knobs may also be challenging to use for some users. With proper care, the cooktop generally provides a good balance of features and performance.

Great Assistance from Lowe's

Would Recommend

When I ordered this cooktop, I was originally informed that delivery was going to be four weeks later. Last week I got informed that the delivery date could be moved up, so I took the earliest date they offered. Really happy about that. The night before the scheduled delivery, I got a text saying that my delivery time had been bumped a few hours to the right. Two hours before that window opened, I got a call from the delivery gents that they were 30 minutes away. Not only did I get my new c...

Glass cooktop issues

Would Recommend

This is an update from my previous post on glass having bubbles or blemishes under. Whirlpool sent me a cleaning kit and I was astonished that the blemishes were on the surface and came clean. We had not spilled anything that would have caused that. Cooktop looks new again and I’m happy about that. Still looking for a common household cleaner that will work as well as Whirlpools magic juice.

Glass cooktop issues

Would Not Recommend

These new glass cooktops are ugly after 1st use. Bubbles appear under the glass with a halo around the perimeter of the burner. top is brand new, not dirty!!! All other appliances are Kitchen-Aid and I was very happy with them, but apparently all of these glass cook tops have bad reviews now. Very disappointed with this expensive cooktop. Several emails with Whirlpool and they are sending a cleaning kit. IT'S NOT DIRTY. I hate to use this one. I might remove and go gas.

Nice Cook Top

Easy to install. Looks and works great. Don't like that the hot burner notification is not next to the individual burners on the cook surface.

Do Not Buy

Would Not Recommend

Do not buy this product! Bought this last summer and the first item was returned because installers noticed glass was warped, so they ordered a new one. New one just started warping also but it's out of the factory warranty, so new glass plus repair is about $850! All my kitchen appliances (except dishwasher) are KitchenAid, so this is very dissapointing.
