Awful Compared to Rockwool
Rockwool stays square and tight to the studs and is easy to cut and doesn't fall apart when you do. This stuff acts a lot more like fiberglass insulation, it falls apart when you cut it and even remove it from the package, and when installing it, the edges dent in along the stud and you cant get it crisp and flat. On top of this, it's got those long thin strands like fiberglass which end up floating up into the air and getting into your skin, unlike my experience with Rockwool. I used what I ...

Not Good, Other Brand Much Better
This material is not like other mineral wool insulation products, it's more like fiberglass, more delicate too. Other brands are much better, others cut and shape much better. This does not fill a 2 x 4 cavity good. Others better in that regard too.

I prefer Rockul Rock Wood/Mineral Wool, but John Mansville is a good product as well since no one seems to carry the Rockul anymore.

During a full renovation of a home we purchased, we decided to insulate with the mineral wool, not only for sound deadening properties, but also to help regulate temperature. Slam dunk.
