What Customers Are Saying
The appliance has a large capacity and efficient drying performance, with quick drying times and useful features like steam cycle and wrinkle control. However, some users report issues with clothes not fully drying on the first cycle, requiring multiple cycles. The lint trap design has also been criticized as too small for the large capacity. Overall, the appliance is a solid, feature-rich option that works well for most users, though a minority have experienced performance or reliability problems.

I purchased the GE Profile 7.4 cu. ft. Vented Electric Dryer with Steam Cycle expecting high performance, but unfortunately this has been a very frustrating experience. No matter which setting I use, my clothes are consistently not drying properly. Even after running a full cycle (sometimes 90 minutes or more), items come out damp. I often have to reset the dryer and run it again, which doubles the time and energy usage. What’s most frustrating is that even when the dryer signals that the load i...

Superb Dryer
First off, the capacity is a game changer. The 7.4 cubic feet drum easily handles bulky comforters, towels, and full family loads without needing to split anything up. Everything dries evenly, and you’re not stuck running multiple cycles. The steam cycle is where this dryer really separates itself. Wrinkles are practically nonexistent, and it refreshes clothes so well that many items come out looking ready to wear—no ironing needed. It’s perfect for quick touch-ups or deodorizing clothes withou...

CAUTION BEFORE BUYING
Purchased this dryer brand new with this most recent dryer being the third after warranty replacement with the other two/and warranty exceeding repair amount. Dryer is easy to use and works well for the most part. After delivery of the most recent GE profile dryer issues started the same day. GE was contacted and sent a tech out in which it was found that the dryer motor was damaged/not functioning correctly. Due to the limited availability of parts, GE had to directly send the part which took...

1 YR after replacing burnt wire, no heat, AGAIN!
I posted on here exactly a year ago about the cord melting. Here we go again!!! No heat, pull the machine apart, having to purchase and replace the wire. GE should be refunding labor and parts costs when this is happening to so many of their machines and is due to their manufacturing. Trash. I'll never buy another GE product again!

Just the right options
This dryer is the matching partner to the washer I bought a year ago. I love the large capacity and the options; the drying time is a nice surprise since it is faster than my old dryer. I like the size of the link catcher- it is compact and is doing an excellent job of capturing lint.

Problem
It has a problem drying the washing machine.. The problem is that when I take the washing machine out, it starts to rock violently from side to side. I've already aligned and balanced it, but the problem persists. I've also tried small and large loads, and the problem remains.

Our 2nd GE dryer in less than two months!!!
The end of January, we bought a GE dryer and washer. After several weeks, we noticed the dryer was not drying and made a claim ticket for them to come out and service? Why I asked? It’s three weeks old!! It was going to be almost 2 weeks before they would arrive. I then decided to call Lowe’s, ordered a different model and we are having the same problem!! Of course, now I’m stuck because I have a GE washer and I have a dryer to match. I had to go back with GE. People DO NOT buy a GE d...

Solid dryer
Very nice dyer. Hold a lot and does dry the clothes. It is electric and it seems to take longer to dry my clothes then my previous dryer. the clothes come out completely dry unlike my old one which sometimes twisted the clothes and had damp spots. I like the idea of the steam part, haven't used it yet, but I could definitely see myself using it soon. Overall, a good dryer. I hope it last as long as my previous GE dryer - 12+ years.

Makes no sense
Cycles take FOREVER and still aren’t dry. I have to run for multiple cycle and I have tried every cycle on there to try to figure it out. My old dryer would stop drying when clothes were done. This does not-maybe bc they are never dry! A “mixed load” cycle will say it only needs 38 mins with wet clothes which needs multiple cycles to dry. Yet as the clothes start to dry and I restart the cycle, the mins go up to 50 or something. So wet clothes need less time than dry clothes?!? Make it make se...

Dries well
While the dryer works very well and I like how I can set my preferences, the sound at the end of the cycle is barely audible. It's not a buzzer or a song as I've had on other dryers, but a barely audible sound (same sound as when moving the dial). There is also no Air option, though there is a no heat option on most cycles.
