GE 7.8-cu ft Stackable Vented Gas Dryer with Steam Cycle ( White )

Washer dryer purchase

Just had these delivered yesterday. First load of laundry. Did a load of towels. Small load. Washer took a hour to wash towels. Did not get clean. Dryer set to towels was also an hour. Towels still damp. Ran dryer again with an increased dry setting and still damp. Next load was white and a 2 hour wash cycle (REALLY!!) . Very disappointed

Good but needs work

The smart app for both the dryer and washer are helpful, but they sometimes get disconnected. The dryer's automatically starting on eco mode lengthens drying times and DO NOT come out dry and the cycle needs to be restarted. This is frustrating and needs to be addressed. The filter is oversized and can handle a lot of lint but it's folding design led to the plastic cracking at the fold. This also should be addressed. Overall, it's far better than lour previous dryer, but it has issues.

Faulty

Brand new dryer drum had to be replaced due to condensation build up when it had never been used. Dryer still builds condensation and the entire inside is wet and moldy smelling. I only assume the new drum will rust as well.

Terrible dust, poor air flow

I wish I could be more positive about our new GE dryer. It does not have good air pull and therefore takes longer to dry loads than my old LG dryer did, and most aggravatingly, it spews dust and lint out of the lint trap (or machine?) so that I have constant dust on the dryer, the adjacent washer, the counters, the floors in my laundry room. I thoroughly clean the lint trap after each load, I’ve had installers come back out to verify correct installation, and I’ve had Dirty Ducts come clean my...

Like it so far....

There lint trap is superior. Im a little surprised it doesn't have a buzzer or bell to alert you when finished with cycle, but we always turned them off because they were too loud, so no biggy. Haven't tried the wifi feature, so can't comment on that. Overall though, love the machine, but its new, so of course. Give me a few years and a power outage maybe il have a different opinion.

Buyer Remorse

Don’t buy this product. I’ve had the set for a year and a half with nothing but problems. The dryer filter has broken, the inside of the dryer is cracked. The washer has already needed to be replaced once due to a locking mechanism problem and the replacement washer is now doing the same thing. This set is overpriced junk.

Good but needs lint trap re-design

I really enjoy the connectivity of the dryer to the app. The app is easy to use. My one complaint on this dryer is the lint trap. It consistently overfills and I end up with lint in my clothes, even when it's a small load of towels. A better design for the lint trap is suggested.

Great features

I love my new dryer . Great for large loads. Drys very quickly, love all the different settings . My last dryer was a GE also , about 22 years old and was still working.What I really love the most is the great lint catcher. It's super large and you don't get any lint falling into the slot.

Lint catcher issues

I am so disappointed in this dryer. The longer I have it the worse it gets with strings getting caught on the lint compartment corners. There are sharp edges/corners and space between the slot the actual lint catcher goes in and the lint catcher. It catches and ruins the strings and laces in my shorts and sweatpants as well as blouses that have ties. It’s a defect of some sort and it needs addressed.

Very impressed with this dryer

I have to tell you that I’m very impressed with GE. They have been very good products to purchase and the service for some issues that I’ve had in the past has been phenomenal. I will continue to buy GE appliances because of the great service they stand behind their products.
