Washer developed high pitcher whine after 15mnths
I spent over $2,000 on the GE Ultrafresh washer and dryer, and after just 1 year and 3 months, the washer developed a horrific, high-pitched whine during the spin cycle. A third-party repair tech inspected it and immediately found the problem: the bolt holding the tub was bent, causing the whole drum to shake and oscillate. The repair estimate? Only 17 months old and needs a new control board.
It is really too bad that the reviews describing a bad control board didn't show up until after I purchased my set. I bought TWO of these washers and dryers because we have a large family. After 17 months we already need to replace the control board. The quality is ridiculous, and GE really should do a recall on these boards. Broke just over a year old
Do NOT buy this machine. Especially, do not buy a GE appliance ever! Unless you want to have it sit broken for close to 2 months with horrible customer service! Read for our experience… Understandably, things break and that’s what happened after literally 14 months of having this machine.
