Update Your Bathroom Fixtures
If you’ve put off those little updates, there's nothing like guests to motivate you to finally swap in new bathroom fixtures. Plus, it’s an easy way to update the look without committing to a big project. If your shower head could use a little TLC, now is the time to coordinate it with the sink or shop our coordinated collections. For a spa-like experience, upgrade to a waterfall shower head or for a gentler experience, a rain shower head. Each provides a soothing sensation guests will love.

Hang a Towel Warmer
A warm towel after a soothing shower or bath feels extra special, especially if the towel’s soft and cozy. Who can resist? A towel warmer is a game-changer and once they try it, your guests may never want to leave. They can have a hot towel as soon as they come out of the tub or shower. Whichever style you have space for — wall-mounted, hard-wired or freestanding — there's no wrong choice.
Organize With Baskets
Using a natural fiber basket is a pretty way to corral rolled towels, toilet paper or other useful bathroom items that your guests need. Depending on its size, it can also be used as a hamper for your guests to put their laundry in.
If your guest bathroom is small and you’re pressed for counter space, baskets are a convenient place to store toiletries like hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bubble bath and essentials like Q-tips, cotton balls, an extra toothbrush, dental floss and make-up remover pads.
Stock Up on Plush Towels
After stepping out of a hot bath or shower, your guests will appreciate wrapping their bodies in a plush towel. Thick, fluffy towels will make them feel like they’re at a spa. Coordinate efforts with a bath towel set or go bigger with a bath sheet.
Plug in a Night Light
One often forgotten addition to a guest bathroom is a night light. A night light provides enough gentle light for your guests to see without keeping them awake. Night light styles range from traditional to modern/contemporary, with varying light intensities and colors from amber to soft white to bright white. Some night lights have motion sensor technology, only turning on when motion is detected.
Put Down a Bath Mat
To protect your floor from moisture damage and prevent slips and accidents, throw down an absorbent bath mat. It’s functional and it keeps your feet warm and comfortable, too. When you want something more decorative, try a bath rug. Bath rugs emphasize style and comfort, and you’ll usually find a wider selection of bath rugs. Coordinate either a bath mat or a bath rug with your bathroom for a seamless look.
Hang Towel Hooks
To keep the bathroom floor from becoming a wet towel graveyard, add easy-to-install towel hooks so that every towel has a place to go. This is especially helpful if you have a small guest bathroom. Bonus points if your towel hooks match your bathroom hardware. Hooks are available as singles or as a rack with up to six hooks.
Add Fresh Flowers
Welcome your guests to the bathroom with fresh flowers. Choose flowers like jasmine, orchids, gardenias and lavender to complement your guest bathroom’s decor. Place a vase of flowers in a prominent place so that your guest can enjoy their beauty every day. Don’t forget to check on them so you can replace them when they begin to wilt.
Wouldn’t it be nice to say, “I grew them myself”? Lowe’s can help you grow a beautiful garden. Stop by your local Lowe’s and a Red Vest associate will help you choose the right plants for your growing zone.
Keep Candles on Hand
Scented candles make a space feel welcoming. They foster a sense of calm while promoting a spa-like atmosphere that your guests will love. The soft glow from a candle is also inviting and the flickering flame creates a relaxing environment.
Or if you have pets or kids and worry candles may prove too risky, flameless LED candles are ideal. Although they may not be scented, they do flicker like real candles and have just as much charm.
