Paint can instantly transform the look of a room or piece of furniture. If you're itching to complete a DIY project that won't take all weekend or break the bank, consider painting. Before you pick your paint and gather brushes, get inspired with these paint projects completed by Lowe's customers.

1. Blue-Ribbon Worthy

A forgotten upstairs bathroom got a major facelift just in time for guests’ arrival. Britt Kubicki (@britt.kubicki) pulled this project off with a little help from paint and tools from Lowe’s. Here, she proves you don’t need to make a major investment, like purchasing a new vanity, to overhaul the look of a bathroom. This once-outdated wood vanity is made new again with a soft blue paint and contrasting matte black hardware. For tips on painting a vanity, check out our how-to guide.

2. Go for Green

This stunning built-in project wouldn’t be complete without a statement-making green paint from HGTV Home® by Sherwin-Williams. Ben Casale (@casale_carpentry) brought his customer’s vision to life with built-ins featuring plenty of shelving plus a dedicated desk space. A rich, hunter green hue is ideal for giving an office a grounded look and feel, creating the perfect invitation to focus.

3. Back to Black

Tammy Jo (@fancy_paint_co) had a clear vision when she found this previously damaged black buffet cabinet on Facebook Marketplace. Once seafoam green and turquoise, she got to work sanding its surface to prep it for new paint. She also removed its damaged top layer, revealing its beautiful original wood facade which she stained. She then applied a coat of Tricorn Black, one of her favorites, to the rest of the piece. It’s no surprise that this sophisticated buffet sold in less than 48 hours.

4. Chalk It Up to Good Style

Transforming an outdated yet quality piece of furniture isn’t difficult — it just takes a little time and thought. This large armoire was built to stand out but its original solid wood surface was getting lost in the mix. Melanie (@melaniemainstreet) used black chalk paint followed by a Minwax® Polycrylic® topcoat to give this classic piece a smooth, durable finish. New copper hardware finishes off the look with a clean, modern edge.

5. Make Old New Again

Furniture artist Chelsey (@northeastvintagefurnitureco) completely reimagined this multipurpose piece with paint and pole-wrap. Typically used to cover existing support columns in homes, pole-wrap is clearly more than a one-trick pony. After painting both the exterior surface and hardware, she gave this piece a little midcentury modern flair with unfinished natural wood pole-wrap. The combination of flat black, light wood and sleek gold offers a surprising, yet on-trend look.

6. Mastering Midcentury

This midcentury modern dresser is the true definition of a furniture flip. Its weathered orange exterior was made new with a combination of Dark Black Kettle paint from Valspar® and Minwax® espresso stain. @truetouchfurniture kept this piece’s old school character intact while infusing it with modern sophistication.

7. Time-Honored Heritage

Furniture flipper @truetouchfurniture made magic happen again with this wood bedroom set featuring a dresser and matching nightstands. Its gorgeous wood finish peeks through a fresh coat of soft blue to create depth while honoring its original midcentury look.

8. Reduce, Reuse, Repaint

This wood entryway table was on its way to the dumpster when @athomewith_a2 rescued it from the landfill. After applying wood filler and a few nails to some damaged places, she sanded its surface and applied a couple coats of paint. The table’s light blue base and contrasting stark gray top create a unique color combination while black-and-white lined drawers complete the look.

9. Live Colorfully

Florida resident @barb1962 admits she never shies away from color and in this case, that turns out to be a very good thing. She dared to paint over her home’s builder-grade vanity cabinets with a bright, bold shade of blue and the result is anything but boring. A cheerful striped rug completes the look in her bland-turned-beautiful bathroom
