What Customers Are Saying
This primer is effective at covering and blocking a range of stains and odors. It is praised for its fast drying time, strong adhesion, and superior hiding power, often allowing users to skip the topcoat. However, the thin, watery consistency can make it challenging to work with, requiring multiple coats and proper ventilation due to the strong fumes.

Read Application before use!
Watery, application is messy, must wait 24hr for second coat, and expensive. Paint salesman says for exterior however, can description is for interior!

Excellent adhesion to cabinet doors before paint
Would RecommendI've used this brand(zinnser) on several wood projects over the past few years. This is the first time I've used the white for a primer before painting it and I'm more than pleased with the results. No need to look any further! Rough sand, wipe clean prime, sand, clean, prime, paint! If you're painting wood cabinets always scuff the surface before applying anything! Good Luck!
Horrible
Would Not RecommendI don’t know how this stuff got so many 5 star reviews because it is horrible to work with. First of all, it has the consistency of water so just be prepared for it to make a huge mess when you try to pour it into the paint tray. Second, trying to roll this leaves hundreds of bubbles. See photo. It acted like a paint that is being rolled with a wet roller but that was not the case here. I had thoroughly prepped my cabinets and they were completely dry. I had to end up brushing this onto my entir...

Only downsides of this product are smell and cost
Would RecommendThis is the most useful, effective primer out there. If it didn’t cost what it does and if it had less smell, I’d use it on everything. As it is, I use it on anything remotely problematic - anytime I need perfect adhesion on iffy surfaces, need to block stains or odors, or need to seal in to prevent the subsurface from interacting with the coatings I’m using next.
