Love it is water -based which makes clean up easy.

Bright white paint that covers mold and mildew like magic. Takes 2 coats for pure white color. Easy to apply since it is quite thin.

Works as advertised. Absolutely the best primer for bathroom ceilings or any area where moisture can be problematic.

Hypersensitive to mold

I’m hypersensitive to mold and had a water leak in my bathroom that contaminated the bathroom and laundry room (shared walls). Once the mold was remediated I painted both rooms with Zinnser Mold Killing Primer and the spores and mycotoxins vanished. I than painted with a low VOC paint since Zinnser is high in VOC’s. Now whenever I paint Zinnser is the first coat I put on. I’ve had a 2x4 painted with Zinnser, it’s been sitting outside thru rain and snow for 2 years and it’s yet to get moldy

Rustoleum Mold Killing Primer

Used this product in one of my shower ceilings the Product covered all mold with just one coat but I applied a second coat for better protection.

Hello, This is JUST a primer designed to “kill mold” on most surfaces . I see some people expecting some great do all primer especially without any prep work .. 1) this is a primer to “kill” mold yes and you can paint directly over mold .( i would still clean and dry the the mold with an approprate cleaner such as TSP/Borax) 2) this is not a high hide primer it will not generally cover up stains on one coat (zinsser makes a high hide primer you will have to use that to cover up stains. Or 3)...

Time will tell...

Went on and covered well. Prepared surface with Moldex as per label recommendation. Expecting good results.

Easy to apply. Killed mold.

Working so far

subflooring and underside of wood floor were discolored from a leaking seal. The mold killing primer was used as a preventative. I'll use it again.

I am not an experienced painter (just a home improvement DIY-er) and I found this primer very easy to work with.

Mold Killing Paint

Works great. Was recommended by Lowe’s employee. Clean up the area and paint over it and forget about it. Keeps the area mold free! Haven’t seen a problem comeback yet.

Joe at our local store recommended this paint to control mold. Till will tell if it helps. I gave it 4 stars. Not enough time yet to see how it performs.

Zinsser Mold-Killing Primer

This primer works very well. We had about a dozen 10' lengths of pre-primed MDF baseboard trim stored in our garage, and with all the rain this past spring the room was damp and that caused the moulding to get moldy. There were spots of mold and mildew all over these pieces of trim. We sprayed each piece with Concrobium Liquid Mold Remover. Works great but be careful

As professional painters, we use this all the time to cover mold with outstanding success. I really recommend this product as a problem solver and time saver. CAUTION: DO NOT spray unless full PPE. Respirator and skin covered. I was in a room where this was sprayed, 30 feet away from the application area. I was not wearing PPE while talking to the contractor. Within 4 hours of breathing it, I was deathly sick. It took a few days to finally recover. Read the can. Do not use without vent...
