Ratings & Reviews for Westinghouse iGen5000DFc Remote Electric Start 5000 Starting / 3901 Running Watt Gas and Propane Dual Fuel Inverter Generator

Good so far.

Recently purchased works good so far. Pay attention to what model you purchase. I thought I bought one with electric start. It’s pull start only.

This is our second Westinghouse Generator. We were so happy with our first one that we decided (when it was time for a second smaller one) to go right back to Westinghouse again. We have tested it but haven't had to use it as of yet. While testing everything went smoothly. My husband commented on the fact that it was very quiet for a generator of this size. And we had it on the rock encased front porch where normally everything echoes and resounds. Silent? By no means, but definitely quiete...

So far so good! Some of the instructions aren't super clear. And draining the oil is a bit tricky. But starts and runs and does what its supposed to do!

No pull start if I don't want to

I love this particular model. I love that I don't have to pull start it. And it can handle a lot of my equipment.

Not From Lowes

When I placed the order the estimated arrival date was 8/15/26, a Saturday. Being without power in Michigan because my generator broke down I ordered for the earliest possible delivery. Turns out, the generator ships from Georgia, something Lowe's must be aware of, and it will not arrive until the 18th, if it arrives on the new estimated time. Today, the 16th it still sits in a FedEx facility in GA.

Terrific RV Generator

I purchased this about a montha go and have used it a few times now. I really like it. It provides stable power for my RV and is amazingly quiet. It is quite heavy, but still worth purchasing. I would highly recommend!

Not Happy

Used three times now will not keep running more than 30 seconds

Functional. Wish it were lighter.

Performs as needed, ie RV air conditioner, microwave, etc. Don't like that the toggle on/off switch is lighted when in the on position. Leaving the switch in the on position so remote start can be used from the RV drains the battery when generator is not in use. Having to set the toggle in the on position prior to each start negates the value of the remote start function.

looks nice

Rock‑Solid Performance on Propane — Reliable and P

I’ve been using my Westinghouse iGen5000DFc for a few weeks now, sometimes for short runs and other times for 1–2 hour sessions, and it has been rock‑solid every time. No overheating, no hiccups, no strange behavior — just smooth, consistent performance. I run it exclusively on propane, and at around 50% load it powers everything I need on my trailer without any trouble. I can run the A/C, the refrigerator, the battery charger, and even a small electric appliance like a toaster, all at once, wi...

Quality generator

Bought this generator in August of 2026 for boondock camping in my travel trailer and also as an emergency backup for my home in case of extended power outages if needed. So far so good. Quality generator that is comparable to Honda and Onan. Westinghouse's reputation speaks for itself. Curious to see how many years I'll get out of it with proper maintenance.

Will start tomorrow so see how i like it. I bought it for my RV

Backup generator

Can’t handle an RV

I have my RV plugged in and it can’t handle the load with the tv on. Very disappointing
