Long enough and heavy enough

Extra long handle with a curve to fit a large man's hand. Heavy enough to drive a sinker. Decent enough grain to the wood to last, and doesn't cause the blisters that rubber handles can.

Great Hammer

I have used this hammer for demo and driving nails. Hammer has a solid handle with very little vibration. The weight is well balanced perfect for demo and driving nails. The length is great for allowing more power in your swing and generally more accurate as well. The nail starter is a great feature and works well for what it’s designed to do. I would recommend this hammer great price point.

I love the California Framing Hammer....

The Vaughn California Framing Hammer is a really nice hammer. I used one for almost 10 years doing construction work and never had to replace the handle. However... The hammer in the picture and what I bought recently was not the California framing hammer.... The title is wrong here. This is just a plain handled, smooth headed hammer. The California framing hammer has a waffle pattern head, it is more blunt, and has a long slightly hooked handle.

Perfect medium weight

Perfect medium weight for me, heavier ones were too difficult to maneuver. Has a notch w/ magnet to hold the nail for the first throw, so you don’t have to hold the nail with your hand.

Solid hammer

This is my third Vaughan framing hammer, all different sizes. Love the quality handles and solid heads. Keep them made in the USA! Can't go wrong.

I built houses for 12 years and this hammer has great balance, low vibration, and hits hard. Vaughan makes great products and are USA made. Great hammer and wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

Nice hammer

I am more of a “hobbyist handyman” than any kind of real carpenter, but I am very happy with this hammer. Good quality craftsmanship, made in the USA. The handle shape feels nice and helps me maintain a good grip when swinging. The head is nice and tight and the hammer feels solid.

Vaughan California Framer 19-oz Milled Face Hammer

I wore out the mill face on my 21 oz Vaughan Straight Handle Framing Hammer and wanted a replacement. Trusting Vaughan, this new styled California handled hammer was my first choice. Using it on my sons new deck has sealed the deal. What a great hammer!
