Not user friendly

I just wanted to have something simple to turn on at a given time and off at a given time. Never could get this thing to work properly. Got it to turn on at the specified but could not get it to turn off. Got it to turn off but couldn't get it to turn on.

Complicated programming

The instructions are unclear. I couldn't get it programmed. It is not user friendly. If you are over the age of 40 I don't recommend it.

Unitech 2 Outlet Plug Timer

This is a good product and does exactly what I want it to do. I love the battery Back Up feature. My only criticism is that the instruction for programming it are not clear. After I got it to work I bought 2 more and they work great as well.

Not worth the effort!

Save yourself the aggravation and get a WiFi Smartplug instead of this monstrosity. Difficult to program and only lasts about a week then you have to reprogram it. I tried 2 different units and after a week or so, the battery indicator starts flashing and the unit resets to default. I did not lose any power during that time to make this discharge the battery. Returned two units. Wasn't going for a third.

Timer seems fine. Instruction manual isn't.

This timer brags about allowing the user to set 16 programs, and that is true. The instructions, if read carefully, will permit you to setup those programs for on and off times, also a day of the week, or weekends, or all week. What the instructions and online video fail to mention is that the timer doesn't store these as separate programs, only as day/time combos to turn the power off or on. 20th Century product

The old mechanical timer had a motor which began to age in all ways. This new timer doesn't appear to have a motor, but rather electronic parts. The timing function is set by a digital display and so far is functioning without any problems and has two plug in point. At this time, nothing negative to say about unit.

not reliable

Randomly resets for no apparent reason. Despite no power outrage, we find the unit flaking “12:00” as if it’s never been programmed.

2nd one I've had, this one was bad

I had one of these for 4 years and it worked great, using multiple on an off sequences during 10 hours each day. Recently it quit working. It was sold under the Utilitech badge, but is identical to the one advertised. I recently purchased a replacement on Lowe's online and when it came it must have been old stock as it was again badged as a Utilitech. The new one did not work right out of the box, had to return it. I went to another brand, which is heavier duty.

Timer magically stops working

This timer is very good for a heavy duty timer. It turns on a hot water recycling pump for me. I have had it for 2+ years. It's in an attic and works under harsh temperature conditions. It is very tedious to program and to check the program but it does work as outlined in the instructions. Unfortunately 1 or 2 times per year it just locks up and the time of day clock just stops running.
