What Customers Are Saying
The Utilitech TT-30P 30-amp plug has mixed reviews. Some users found it affordable and easy to install, but the majority reported quality and design issues. Many reviewers noted the plug was cheaply made, with small terminal screws that made it difficult to securely connect the required 10-gauge wires. The tight internal space also made it challenging to fit all the wires. Overall, while the plug may work for basic applications, the consensus is that it is not well-suited for 30-amp RV use, and users are advised to look for a higher-quality alternative.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Screw terminals too small for 10 AWG stranded.
Would Not RecommendThe overall design of this TT-30P plug should be reviewed and revised. Most important is that when using #10 AWG stranded wire, the screws that hold the conductors in place are way too small. The head has a flanged area that acts as a built in washer. When the terminal screw is tightened the strands partially squish-out and there's only pressure on about 3/4 of the strands. Extreme care needs to be taken to minimize this from happening. The screw head is too small to assure 100% capture of the...
Ok for smaller wire 12# or 14#

Low quality
Would Not RecommendHad to add my own washers on screws to hold wires. Person who designed this never used it. The super long strain relief screws stab you. Lowes should find a quality one to sell Buy a better one if you can

Poor design
Would Not Recommend10 gauge stranded wire, which is needed for 30 amps cannot be tightened down on the terminals. Stranded wire spreads while tightening down on screw. No room under the cover for 10 gauge wire. Very poor design.
You can find the same item for less at their compe

Would Not Recommendthis plug is designed for solid wire and RVs use a stranded conductor. it's a nearly impossible task to capture all strands for a #10 wire under the head of a screw . it needs a lug type conection

To small of package for 10 gauge stranded wire.
Would Not RecommendCheap, trying to connect 10 Ga stranded wire for a 30 amp service and the connection terminals are really bad, Head is way to small to accommodate the wire size needed. Termination for the wire is the worst I have seen. Will return.

Would Not RecommendDifficult to make a good connection with stranded wire to the prong terminals
Verified Purchaser
Not water proof or water resistant.
Would Not RecommendDespite being a power plug for a 30 amp RV and will be used outside and exposed to wet conditions it does not provide a seal to keep out water. It should also offer instructions as to best practices in wiring this heavy guage wire to the terminals.

Annoyed but it works
These need to be made waterproof super annoying that they aren't

Very Poor Design
Would Not RecommendLike the many other reviews, this plug is a terrible design. Very inadequate room for 10 gauge wire to be hooked up neatly and safely under the cover. As well there's no apparent resistance to water penetration as it should be for an RV plug. Find another one to purchase.
Good replacement part
Would RecommendVery small area to get the wires into the connector. I'd recommend attempting to use a terminal connector but I don't think the area is large enough. I'd also recommend the manufacturer place another plate to allow the screw to make good contact with the wires.
