Ratings & Reviews for Trex Hideaway Plugs Foggy Wharf Hidden Deck Fastener 936 Square feet ( 416 -Pack )

Step 3: Perfect way to finish

Note: The color difference is intentional. We use a dot pattern on the stairways to indicate the year each deck was built, since they’re replaced on a rotating schedule across the development. A “showroom” deck is quickly becoming the new industry standard. With so many fastener options out there, the Trex Hideaway system stands out for its near-invisible finish, simple tools, and consistent installation. For my project, I used four components from this line: the plug counterbore bit, composite...

Too big

These are double the size of the screw. Why don’t you provide a SMALLER plug in the BOX with the screws. This is a no brainer. I’m having to buy CORTEX plugs that are smaller that will actually work. Trex totally dropped the ball to save a penny. Pair the screws and plugs of smaller size in 1 box. Now I’m having to scrabble to finish the job somehow. Not happy at all.

Hideaway

Enhance decking and fascia plugs. These trex hideaway to allow for hiding screw heads on Trex decking. These plugs are size specific and easy to install to finish out your project.

Great deck plugs for Trex

Great trex deck plugs, fit perfectly into the countersink hole created by the trex-specific tool. I used a mismatched board intentionally to show the great fit.

Oversized waste of money

The plugs do not fit. Not even close! They are twice as big as the hole left by the trex screws. How does that even happen?

Counter set plugs

Counter sink plugs. These are the foggy wharf color plugs. The whole set is very helpfull. The screws the counterset bit and the screw setter. Ita all very easy to use.

Nice covers for the recessed deck screws

These are easy to use and very durable. They can be stained and painted if you want to do that. They fit perfectly in the recessed hole, nice and tight so they will not fall out.

Does their job

Does its job. Make sure to match your deck wood color, appears to be a lot of options. Recommend getting the hardware kits that are sold separately. Very easy to use and fit well in the pre drilled holes. Once installed you barely notice them. Highly recommended.

Does the required job

These fascia plugs are part 3 of the full Trex Hideaway deck fastener system, which also includes a set of bits (part 2 of the system) to drill a countersink hole and drive the special screws (part 1 of the system). These plugs are designed to be installed in the specific Trex board materials. I did not have any of those handy at the time of this review, but I demonstrated the system on an old 2x4 board I had sitting around. The material on the plug is designed to match the color and texture ...

hides screws

these plugs hide the screw heads in your deck or what ever products you have built with the hexstix screws . i had no issues when using them and found the looks pleasant

Get boards and plugs at same time.

If you’re going to use these plugs on a deck make sure you buy boards and plugs at same time to assure colors match. But if your painting it does not matter.

The Hidden Deck Makes a Great Wreck.

I gave this is my contractor and it Wrecked his mind. He was so use to the deck screws showing a bit and although there are other products out there that claim to do this, after installation this deck fasteners seem to make the others a wreck. He was impressed with how fast the look was complete and with the other items it was a breeze. He said he wished he had more for some other jobs he had this season. If you looking for a truly finished look this might very well be for you.

Don't buy this if the Lowe's AI Bot recommends it

these were recommended by the AI online bot from Lowe's to go with the Trex deck screws that I ordered, but they are way to large for the holes created by the recommended screws.
