Trex Decking - So Much Nicer Than Treated Wood

I installed Trex deck boards (beach dune) on my 200 square foot deck, and I love the way it looks, and its so easy to clean with just a hose. My old deck is only a few inches off the ground and was still very solid, but the wood surface was so weather beaten after 30+ years, so I painted the old wood with 2 coats of the very thick Cabot Deck Correct to seal it thoroughly, and then applied the Trex boards right over top of the old deck lumber. Excellent Upgrade for Existing Deck

We have two decks, both built about 20 years ago. The framing is solid, but the decking was in very bad shape on both decks. We tried extending the life with paint. They needed new paint every year. the deck was just under 16 feet with one small area just under 8 feet wide. The 16 foot length would work and there would be no butt joints. They are great but....

I was using 8’ and 12’ boards for my 20’ ft wide deck. The 8’ and the 12’ aren’t quite the same size. The 12’ is just slightly higher than the 8, and the 8 is just slightly wider than the 12. This wasn’t just on a couple of boards, it was all of the,. Can’t get a perfect seam but it’s darn close. I can tell because I know they don’t quite match up, but others will probably not notice it, unless they are really inspecting the deck. Yes, I do recommend these boards. Just don’t use an 8’ and...

Looks amazing!

We are very happy with our new decking, it looks great, especially with the hidden fasteners. It is very hot in the sun (too hot for bare feet!) but it is so nice to not ever have to worry about resurfacing it! Definitely worth it!

You could install the deck boards all by yourself

You need to align and clamp both ends and put the fasteners in from one end to the other. One person could install the entire deck. I did 16 x 12 deck, including pulling the old boards, in 2 days.

Excellent Decking Product

Bought this version to outline rest of the decking j rounded edges ). Easy to cut and looks good. Bought more to place on top of treated steps .

Trex Deck

Just finished replacing all my decking material with Trex decking. The material is very easy to work with and installs quickly. The finished look is incredible and so much nicer to look at than the old pressure treated decking.
