Would RecommendI replaced all of the horizontal boards (>1500 board feet) on my deck, including stairs with Trex Transcend. I simple got tired of re-staining the wood every 2-3 years. I stained all of the vertical wood to come close to the appearance of the Trex. I did all of the work by myself. I thought installation was relatively easy. Would Not RecommendAs beautiful as this product is in the beginning, it's not worth it in the end. If you are worried about scratches and stains, yes, this product will indeed scratch and stain. Yes, there is maintenance required on this product to keep it looking nice but once you scratch it or it gets stained, you are stuck with it unless you replace it. Would RecommendI have a 1200 square foot deck that I am redoing in sections with the Trex Trancend Island Mist. Similar to other composite products I have to work with the temperature and direct sun light have an impact on the length and even the width. Once you know this you work around it and it works. Very happy with final look of this product. Our front porch is the same material and it is holding up perfectly.
